Who we are
All Saints was founded in 1885. A group of laity left the Cathedral with the approval of Bishop Worthingon, and formed a new parish in Omaha. The first rector was Louis Zahner.
Today, All Saints is a community that strives to blend catholic, protestant, and evangelical elements in an open community. All Saints is a strong, progressive, and caring Episcopal Church with a rich history, a tradition of leadership, and commitment to its parishioners, to its Dioceses and to its community. All Saints provides the word of God to members who travel from all sections of Nebraska.
Our membership comes from all backgrounds, economic strata and ethnicity. As the largest church in the Nebraska Diocese, All Saints has historically taken a leadership role in the Episcopal Church affairs both locally and nationally. Many Members of All Saints serve on the Diocese Committees and hold important positions on Diocese boards. Our Health Ministry program, started in early 1990, has been a standard that others have adopted. The Diaconal program at All Saints has ordained 10 Deacons in the last 15 years and currently has a baptized membership of 1200. All Saints is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as we begin a new chapter under the leadership of our newest rector, Rev. Marisa.
