Who we are
We are a family of faith brought together by the love of Jesus Christ. Together, we are learning to love the Lord with all of our hearts and to love our neighbors. Everyone is welcomed at All Saints’.
Sunday morning at All Saints is a noisy bustling time. In the hallways, people old and young are greeting each other moving from Sunday School classes to the Nave (worship space). One can hear happy voices in Karen and English at this time. Ushers eagerly greet making sure everyone has a bulletin as well as scripture readings and hymns in their own language. Silent prayer and preparation for worship begins as people slip into the pews. With the sound of a bell, our morning worship begins. Our hymns are sung in two languages allowing everyone to participate. Our Gospel reading and our sermons are proclaimed in two languages so that everyone can benefit from the Good News.
We celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday as Christians have done from the beginning. To signify our unity in Christ, we share a common chalice. There are two ways of receiving the Blood of Christ: Sipping from the chalice directly or dipping the Body of Christ into the chalice carefully. All Baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion at the altar. Not baptized? No problem. All are invited to receive a special blessing at the altar rail. Just fold your arms across your chest and be blessed!
After the dismissal, all are invited for refreshments in the Parish Hall. You may be able to sample authentic Karen cuisine since we frequently share family celebrations after church. All are welcome to these impromptu celebrations in the Parish Hall.
