Altona United Church History
The first Altona United Church service was held on Easter Sunday, 1953 in the Elmwood School auditorium led by Reverend Gordon John Freer. The church building was purchased from Kronsgart, north of Plum Coulee and moved to Altona. The church building was ready for its service of dedication on September 19, 1954. The choir director was Bert Kroeker and the dedication service was led by Dr. E. G. D. Freeman, Dean of Theology at United College, now the University of Winnipeg.
