Who we are
First Baptist Church exists to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to help people grow to know Him better. Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, I believe that our church can assist you. Through every event or ministry at our church, we pray that each person will experience a genuine encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. We would love to have you join us at the First Baptist Church of Clyde.
Since 1883, FBC Clyde has been a part of the community of Clyde. We have seen the good and the bad in this community and want to partner with you in this journey to our creator. Together, we live out our faith in ways that affect change in our communities.
We hold to the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Bible and summarized in early Church creeds such as the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. We also affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) which outlines the beliefs of Southern Baptist Churches.

God blessed me with Christian parents who taught me the importance of a loving relationship with Jesus and faithful ministry in the local church. At the age of seven, I was led to the Lord by my dad in our living room.
Of all places, I met my wife, Kloette, at a single’s conference in Glorieta, New Mexico. We were married in December of 1985. God has blessed me with a wife who has a heart for the gospel. We have two grown sons, Ryan and Josh. Ryan and his wife, Jessika, have one daughter, Averi. Josh and his wife, Kathryn, live in Pflugerville, Texas.
In May of 1986, I graduated from West Texas State University with a BBA in Accounting. In the fall of that same year, we moved to Fort Worth, and I enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I earned my Master of Religious Education degree in 1986 and my Doctor of Ministry degree in 2001.
After serving in churches in Fort Worth, Shreveport, Canyon, and Wheeler, God called me to serve as pastor of FBC of Clyde in 2003.

KidZone is our Wednesday night event for preschool through 5th grade children. Each week kids will be introduced to a major Bible story, will discover how Jesus connects to the story, and will learn how they fit into the big picture. Children will have a blast with a Bible story, music, and recreation!
Grapple
Grapple is a Wednesday night event just for 6th graders. In Grapple your students will dig into God's word with a variety of attention grabbing tools specifically designed for 6th graders!
