Who we are
God seemed to break through the veil between heaven and earth, between eternity and time, and bow us down in His presence. We see the King's face. We have been in the presence of the Creator of the cosmos, and He has come to us as our loving heavenly Father to receive our worship. There is a sense of the majesty of God and His glory, a sense of the exaltation of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We exposit the Scriptures, preaching Christ and him crucified in all of his glory and majesty. We preach the whole counsel of God. We make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded us.
The Westminster Confession of Faith, Larger Catechism, and Shorter Catechism are our confessional standards. We use the six forms of unity as well as the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed.
The Bible and the whole universe is God-Centered. God is the focus, purpose, source, and foundation of all things. Most thinking, even in religion, is man-centered. Reformed and Presbyterian churches have historically worked at being as God-centered as the Bible itself. The genius and hallmark of reformed churches is to make God’s Word in the Bible the foundation of all things and to do all things for the glory of God alone.
When we worship in the holy presence of the triune God, we cross the threshold from this world to eternity, from the common to the uncommon, from the profane to the holy, from darkness to light. We believe that we should worship as God commands in his word. In worship, we preach the Word of God, we sing the Word of God, and we pray according to the Word of God. Our worship is simple, spiritual, and reverent. We strive for excellence in every area of our worship service in order to reflect the holiness and majesty of the Lord, and we are continually challenged to improve what we do for His sake. To all who are weary and seek rest, to all who mourn and long for comfort, to all who struggle and desire victory, to all who sin and need a Savior, to all who are strangers and miss fellowship, to all who hunger for righteousness, and to all who will come, we open our arms. Empower me
Empower me to be a bold participant, rather than a timid saint in waiting; to exercise authority of honesty, rather than to defer to power or deceive to get it; to influence someone for justice, rather than impress anyone for gain; and by grace, to find treasures of joy, of friendship, of peace hidden in the fields you give me daily to plow.
