Who we are
Gawler Baptist Church, founded in 1866, is currently located on the main street of the historic town of Gawler, 40 km north of the Adelaide CBD in South Australia. We are a member church of the Baptist Churches of South Australia.
We are a multi-generational church who seek to live out the fulness of the life of the kingdom of Jesus with each other and those around us. We are a community who care for one another, but at the same time also seek to be welcoming and caring of others. While we take seriously God's call to us to join with him in his mission in the world, we are an easy going, informal, down to earth group who enjoy each others company, have fun together and try not to take ourselves too seriously.
We are conscious of issues of social justice and, amongst other things, have taken a particular interest in Tear and an orphanage and Bible College near Chennai in India.

The children’s program at Gawler Baptist Church is called SMYG which is just a funny name for our Sunday School. It means: Sunday Morning Youth Group.
Our aim and purpose for SMYG is to minister God’s love to the young people of our church community.

The Gawler Baptist Youth Group meets each Friday night during school term. The program consists of a variety of activities alternating between a study one week and a social night the next. Youth Group starts from Year 8
