Who we are
OUR MISSION
Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. We’ve been here since 1952, sharing the message of God’s grace and mercy, hope and love, forgiveness and peace in Jesus Christ.
You are invited to join us in life’s greatest adventure:
Knowing Jesus and making Him known
OUR VISION
Receiving God’s mercy, we bring His compassion to people and families in our community, so that they may live with hope and joy.
Becoming like Jesus, we connect people to Him by serving our neighbors in Christ-centered ways that challenge, inspire, and support them to grow in a personal relationship with God.
Using our God-given time, talents, and treasures, and in partnership with community resources, we provide:
· Regular workshops on healthy personal financial management
· Support groups for people struggling with life issues
· Children’s ministries that meet the need of families
· Opportunities for seniors and non-seniors to serve each other
“servant events” that show mercy to our community and expand God’s kingdom

OUR MINISTRIES
Midweek Bible Study
Our midweek adult Bible class is getting acquainted with the Prophets of the Old Testament. Please join us in the Fellowship Room.
When: Every Wednesday, 4:00 pm
Bible Adventures (Sunday School)
We have created a partnership with families in the Christian upbringing of children by providing a place where children may learn and experience God’s love in Jesus Christ. Our programs serve as a resource to assist parents in establishing a strong Biblical foundation for their children’ life-long faith.
When: Sunday during the Gathering children are dismissed during the sharing of the peace, in the Christian Education Building
Men of Faith
Our men have created a powerful fellowship that provides spiritual growth to help them live out their callings at home, at work, and at church. Twice each month, they get together to share in a Bible based conversation that is formed around the experiences of their lives. Their gatherings always begin with a wonderful fellowship meal.
When: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Junior Youth Group
Our Junior Youth Group seeks to learn more about Jesus and what it means to be God-fearing teens and preteens in today's secular society.
When: second Sunday of the month at 10:30am
Lydia Sewing and Craft Circle
This group of talented ladies get together each week to sew, knit, and crochet sweaters, blankets, hats, scarves, or anything else they feel may be needed. They also enjoy Christian fellowship and conversation, lunch and delicious dessert.
When: Every Monday, 9:30 am—2:00 pm, in the kitchen
Ladies' Aid
These ladies have devoted their talents, abilities, and energy toward serving the church and those in need. They support various missions and hold a monthly meeting that allows them to organize their efforts for these missions, as well as interact with one another.

Seniors Connection
All senior men and women (over 55) as well as well as seniors in training (under 55) are invited to join in the fun and fellowship. Listen, my friend!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness.
