Who we are
Welcome to Holy Family Parish in wonderful Whitby, ON.
Holy Family Parish was established on June 19, 1980 by his Eminence Cardinal Carter. Our founding Pastor was Rev. Fr. Gerard Breen and the first Mass was held in St. Paul’s school gym on September 7, 1980.
The sod turning ceremony was held on September 5, 1982 and construction of the new church at 91 Ribblesdale Drive began on September 20, 1982. Bishop Clune and Fr. Breen (now Monsignor Breen) celebrated the first Mass in the new church on February 16, 1983 (Ash Wednesday). His Eminence G. Emmett Carter solemnly blessed Holy Family Church on Sunday, May 8, 1983
Parish Mission Statement
The Holy Family Catholic Parish thanks God for His gifts to us of time, talent and treasure. In following the Lord’s command to “make disciples of all nations…” (Mt. 28:19), each of us will use these gifts in praising God. We will work in the service of our community by encouraging and helping all to reconnect to our Church, renew our faith and rebuild our commitment to God.
