Who we are
We are the descendants of a group of evangelical Christians, who in 1825 built a small, typically Kentish chapel, at the top end of Linton Road, Loose. Worship has continued in this same chapel for 194 years. We are, an independent, self-governing Free Evangelical Congregation. Our vision for our church is to serve God's will and to be a clear Christian witness in this area for many years to come.
Our church focus: Prayer, Care and the Word
We aim above all to centre our services and lives on the Lord Jesus and to point to Him as the Saviour of the world.
We are known as a friendly church, and we seek to 'carry each other's burdens' through prayer and care. Our services are informal and we encourage participation so that we can 'build one another up'. Mainly we use the New International Version of the Bible, and Mission Praise for sung worship. We value the times of friendship and fellowship that go alongside the various activities.
As well as the Sunday services each week (11.00 am) we meet each month for a Bible study, a 'Share with Prayer' meeting and Coffee Stop. See What's On menu for current details.
We are a 'Free' church which simply means that we do not belong to a denomination or other network. However, we have good relationships with other local churches and belong to the Evangelical Alliance which links us to the wider Christian world, and identifies us with the evangelical witness to biblical truths and values.
Our Trustees - Terence Hawgood (Chairman), Clive Jones, and Sandy Parsons - oversea the financial and business governance of the church.

Local outreach & community activities
We hold a monthly coffee morning on the first Tuesday of each month between 10.00 - 12.00 am, which is well attended, and the bacon 'buppies' and homemade cakes are well received. It is a wonderful time of fellowship for all who attend.
We are pleased to offer a Bible Study once a month, on a Thursday morning and a Share with Prayer meeting also once a month on a Thursday morning both at 10.30 am, conducted by Andrew Parfitt, which is very popular and attended by many from other churches. Come a little earlier and have a coffee first.
The Maidstone Christian Cancer Support Group hold their meetings at Linton Road too. They are meeting on May 16th, and June 20th, at 12.30 pm for lunch together (bring some food - drinks and cake provided), followed by an informal service for those connected to someone with, or experiencing cancer. Conducted by Andrew Parfitt. Everyone welcome! For further details contact Ann and Andrew Parfitt.
In addition the Maidstone branch of the 'Good News for Everyone' (Previously known as the Gideons) meet at the church for prayer and discussion once a month.
We also lend our church to other churches who may need an additional venue to hold training and/or leadership days, or somewhere to meet and pray.
We also host the World Day of Prayer in March, on alternate years. This is where women around the world hold thanksgiving services, in the style of the chosen country, beginning with that particular country, and lasting for 24hrs, finishing back in the country of origin. This is a well supported venue, attended by various denominations, who take an active part in the proceedings. It is not just for women and men are most welcome to join us.
This year it was hosted by Holy Trinity Church in Coxheath, on Friday March 4th at 7 pm. The programme was devised by the Christian women of England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Scotland have their own celebrations on a different day, and was well attended. Last year the service was 'zoomed'.
On April 26th 2022, we celebrate our 197th church Anniversary. Having been built in 1825, our building has seen many changes locally, and also many changes in the numbers of worshippers, but there has always been a witness here, which we pray will continue for many years to come. Only three years to our 2nd centenary!
This is good use of the premises, and we are open to applications to use our lovely old church for Christian worship.
