Who we are
What We Believe
CORE VALUES
The core values are the guiding principles that dictate our behavior and action.
Worship
We believe worship is our response to God’s revelation of who He is and what He has done and that worship is our ministry priority. We believe the key to experiencing God is developing a lifestyle of worship.
We believe assembling together for corporate worship to be a command of God and important for the edification of the Christian.
We believe that personal time spent daily in fellowship with God, through the reading of His Word and communication through prayer, is a vital part of worship.
We believe God’s heart, His will, and His power are revealed in worship.
John 4:23 Heb. 10:25 2 Tim. 2:15 Phil. 4: 6
Discipleship
We believe every follower of Christ is called to live by faith in the Son of God and to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe every follower of Christ should seek daily to become more like Jesus in character, attitude, and actions.
We believe all of God’s Word is perfect truth and without error.
We believe that preaching and teaching the Word of God is central to reaching the lost and maturing believers.
We believe every follower of Christ becomes His disciple and actively involves themselves in the maturing of fellow disciples.
Gal. 2: 20 Col. 3: 9-10 2 Tim. 3: 16-17 Col. 3: 16 2 Tim. 2:2
Relationship
We believe in the relevance of the Gospel message and are committed to using ever-changing methods to share this never-changing message.
We believe in sharing Christ with our community, our nation, and the world. We do so through giving financially, going individually, and sending others.
Matt. 28: 19-20 Acts. 1: 8
Stewardship
We believe that every follower of Christ is a minister, called to serve the Lord by serving one another.
We believe God expects us to be faithful stewards of our time, our talents, and our treasures, first in this church, then locally, nationally, and internationally.
We believe in following a God-given vision for building and growing His kingdom. Under His leadership, we will work and cooperate with other Christ-centered, Bible-believing organizations to advance His kingdom.
Matt. 20: 26-28 Eph. 4:11-12 Gen. 28:22 2 Cor. 9: 6-8 Prov. 29: 18 Mal. 3:10
Fellowship
We believe fellowship is a key to the health and life of our church. Because people are of value to God, we value people.
We believe and desire that anyone who enters Ridgecrest Baptist Church for worship or ministry should feel welcome and accepted.
We believe commitment to Christ’s church is necessary and is expressed through church membership.
We believe commitment to Christ is encouraged by personal involvement within small-groups as well as congregational ministry opportunities.

Ridgecrest Baptist Church History
Our Story
Ridgecrest Baptist Church began as a vision in the hearts of the Mission's Committee of Dothan's First Baptist Church. In 1951, RBC began when a prayer meeting was conducted in the home of James and Mary Morrison. The first meeting place for Bible Study and Worship was in a store building on South Cherokee Avenue and by 1953, the first service was held in a new building on Fortner Street.
What this church has become far exceeds our original vision for the small mission church that began in 1953. It is truly amazing how The Lord has blessed!
-James Morrison, Charter Member
And The Lord continues to bless! If you are looking for a family to belong to then you've found the right place. Ridgecrest is a large family made up of people from all different walks of life that have come together to worship and serve Jesus Christ. We often hear people say that even though RBC is large, once you get involved, it has that small church atmosphere. Which means people and relationships are very important to us! From single to seniors, toddlers to teenagers, Ridgecrest has something for everyone. We are committed to reaching those in our community and around the world that are not connected to God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. But that's not enough. We work diligently to build up the individual and the family in order to send them out to serve and expand the kingdom of God. We offer ministries for every age group and each ministry offers exciting opportunities for you.
We look forward to seeing you here on Sunday. Please stop by our Welcome Center for more information about how you can connect with the family at Ridgecrest. See you soon!

Inspire my thoughts
Holy Spirit of God, visit now this soul of mine, and tarry within it until the eventide. Inspire all my thoughts. Pervade all my imaginations. Suggest all my decisions. Lodge in my soul's most inward citadel, and order all my doings. Be with me in silence and in my speech, in my haste and in my leisure, in company and in solitude, in the freshness of the morning and the weariness of the evening. Give me grace at all times to rejoice in Thy mysterious companionship.
