Who we are
We all know individuals who for one reason or another feel unwelcome in church. Are you no longer participating in a church community? Whatever is keeping you from being at home with your church, we want you to know you are always welcome at Saint Cecilia Catholic Community,
Following the example and teachings of Jesus Christ, we believe in gracious hospitality. Everyone without exception is encouraged to receive Holy Communion. We are LGBT affirming and dog-friendly. Children are always welcome.
RENEW YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE THROUGH MUSIC!
Saint Cecilia is the Patron Saint of Music. Our services are filled with modern and ancient songs. We invite everyone to participate - no matter how good or bad you sound.
Although we are progressive on social issues, we offer a traditional Sung Mass in the Catholic Tradition. The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian Worship. God’s word and the Body and Blood of Jesus renew our hearts, minds, and souls to love one another as Jesus loved us.
WHO ARE WE?
We affirm the dignity of all persons regardless of race, national origin, religious affiliation, gender, or sexual orientation.
Our Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, male & female, married and single, are validly ordained in the Apostolic Succession. We minister the sacraments to those Rome will not or cannot serve, like same-sex couples seeking marriage or women called to Holy Orders.
We are the People of God baptized in Christ and professing our faith in the Nicene Creed through a living Catholic tradition. We preach the Gospel of liberation and justice. We offer a refuge in Jesus for those suffering prejudice. We stand open to dialogue with others.
WE PROVIDE ALL SACRAMENTS TO EVERYONE!
Contact us for baptisms, confirmations, first communions, quinceañearas, last rites, and funerals. We marry any couple. We also offer Bible Study, Rosary, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
WHAT LITURGY DO YOU USE?
Our liturgical texts and musical settings are drawn from Roman, Anglican, Old Catholic, and Eastern sources. We follow the Roman Catholic Lectionary with occasional exceptions. All ministers at the altar are vested in the customary manner of the Western Rite. We use bells and occasional incense.

Saint Cecilia Catholic Community History
Saint Cecilia Catholic Community began with four people in the lobby of a law firm on April 05, 2015. We moved to 555 N Commercial Rd, Palm Springs on August 15, 2015. Our numbers steadily grew over the next few years, interrupted by the Covid pandemic. But we continued to offer Sung Mass every Sunday. We are making steady progress in rebuilding our congregation. Our Covid mitigation is the installation of two oversized hospital-grade air purifiers with HEPA filtration. Hence, we do not impose "Covid behavior rules" on our congregation.
In the fall of 2020, we began offering our Sung Mass on Sunday with a 4-6 voice professional choir of local musicians singing nine months a year. Our music includes that by local composers.

Light of the World
Jesus, the Light of the World, as we celebrate your birth... may we begin to see the world in the light of understanding you give us. As you chose the lowly, the outcasts, and the poor to receive the greatest news the world had ever known, so may we worship you in meekness of heart. May we also remember our brothers and sisters less fortunate than ourselves in this season of giving. Amen.
