Who we are
Welcome to St Mary's Church, Beachamwell, We are a very small Norfolk village of some 300 residents and are blessed with a beautiful thatched Saxo-Norman church that is over 1,000 years old.
Situated on the west end of the village green the Church is very much the centre of the village and community. Currently the church is undergoing a major restoration after a devastating fire in February 2022 that effectively destroyed everything except the walls and tower, and a few of the artefacts in the church.
Currently, while the church is rebuilt after the 2022 fire there is a service on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Village Hall. We would invite any and all to come to those services should you wish. During the week, Mon - Fri, while work on the church is ongoing, visitors to the site are welcome and should you wish to enter and see the work please contact Peter Berendt, the Churchwarden, who will be happy to provide a short tour and brief.

Listen, my friend!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness.
