St Michael Cornhill Service Times

Choral Eucharist
Occasionally Choral Matins. This service always featuresmusical settings from the classic tradition of church music from Tallis and Byrd through Purcell and Vittoria, Mozart and Haydnto Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Britten.
Every Sunday at 11:00 AM
Monday
Organ Recital
This series of recitals was started by Harold Darke in 1916. The church's organ was originally built by Renatus Harris in 1684, the opening recital being given by Purcell. Organists of the church have included William Boyce, Richard Limpus (founder of the Royal College of Organists), and Harold Darke. This distinguished tradition continues today, with organ music played expertly by fine musicians: a wide selection of mostly-English, French and German pieces ideally suited to the bold but subtle colours of this fine instrument.

Eternal God, this holy night is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem this night fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity. Amen.
