Students
Our goal at The Outlet in ministry is to reach, teach, equip, and encourage this generation of students (grades 6 thru 12) who are lost, hurting, and searching for answers. We do this by showing and leading them to Jesus Christ. We desire to help students find and realize their need for a relationship with Jesus, while encouraging them to grow in that relationship.
In our ministry we see each other as family and we love to worship and study God’s Word in Sunday School, Wednesday night bible study and Missions local and global. Come to Worship Worship is who we are, it’s why we were created from the very beginning and our students come to realize that purpose and need for that worship. They encourage each other and hold one another accountable by standing on Hebrews 10:11-12.
We take Acts 1:8 very seriously in our ministry, “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We understand that “It’s not about us. . .It’s about Jesus” and we are all missionaries on the mission field at all times, trying to fulfill the mission by living out Acts 20:24 which says: ” However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” We accomplish this task by doing local missions at home, school, and in our community. Also, by serving the Lord thru the Southern Baptist North American and International Mission Boards year round.
Throughout the year, we set time aside for spiritual renewal as a group, or family. This time allows the students to grow spiritually in their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as closer as a “family”. And often times, there are many first time decisions made to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Conferences, Retreats, and Camps are a necessary part of the student ministry.

The Sullivan Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry a.k.a. “Sullivan Seniors” is open to anyone 50 and above. This is a large group in our church that is active in many ways ministering to our community and within our church. From praying for our children and students in the church, sending out cards of encouragement, to helping do minor construction work in the church and for people in our community, we love helping others. We also love the time we fellowship together. Each month we have two meals together; a fellowship breakfast and a fellowship supper. The location for both changes each month so please check the newsletter or look at the calendar on the church website for that information. Our fellowship breakfast is on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9:00 AM. Our fellowship supper is on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM. As stated earlier one of our ministries is sending cards of encouragement. We call this our Coffee and Cards Outreach Ministry. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the church fellowship hall. We also enjoy taking overnight trips. Some of our recent trips have been to the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Celebrator’s Conference with Dr. David Jeremiah in Pigeon Forge, TN. If you would like more information about Sullivan Seniors, contact Bro. Andy the Senior Adult Pastor at 423-349-6288 or email him at [email protected].
