Children's Church
Wake Chapel offers Children’s Church during the worship service for children age 2 through kindergarten. Children are seated in the sanctuary for the first part of the worship service and are dismissed to Children’s Church just prior to the pastor's sermon. Children in first grade and older remain in the worship service for the entire time.
Our 2 & 3 Year Old Children’s Church curriculum is a supplement and reinforcement to the Gospel Light lesson the children were taught in Sunday School. Teachers also use music and crafts to reinforce the lesson. Our Pre-school and Kindergarten Children’s Church uses curriculum from Group Publishing. The lesson is often supplemented with music, service projects, and crafts.

Wake Chapel Christian Church History
History of Wake Chapel Christian Church
In 1856, Wake Chapel Christian Church was formally constituted as a church. Wake Chapel would be governed by its own constitution and a congregational form of government that would allow freedom from ecclesiastical control. We are not restricted by decisions made outside our church that would determine our message or our ministry. This freedom does not mean, however, that we do as we please or that we are opposed to other churches or the Christian people in those churches. We recognize the oneness of all believers in Jesus Christ -- a oneness which stretches across denominational boundaries. We place emphasis on the Bible. It is our rule of faith and practice. The Bible is proclaimed and taught, verse by verse, in the pulpit and in our Sunday School classes. As a church our purposes are...
To glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. To build each other up in love. To reach out to the neighborhood and to our world with the Good News about Jesus Christ.
To accomplish our purposes...
The starting point of our ministry is God, not human activity. (1 Cor. 3:6) The guide for our ministry is the Bible, not human wisdom. (Is. 55:6-11) The focus of our ministry is people, not programs. (1 Thess. 2:8 and John 3:16) The goal of our ministry is mature Christians, not simply converts. (Col. 1:28-29) The environment for our ministry is the corporate body, not individualism. (Rom. 13:3-8)
