Who we are
Carmel Christian Centre is a thriving multi-generational church family drawn from all walks of life. We are united in our passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ with grace and love and to serve those in need in our local community and further afield.
We are a "Come as you are" church - no matter who you are or what you have done God is interested in you and wants to be part of your life. The good news is that God wants to make a difference in your life - you just have to give him a chance.

Leader Bio:
I have been a part of Carmel Christian Centre since joining in 1979. I worked full time as a civil servant for 27 years, during which time I held several roles and functions in the church before becoming the minister in 2006.
I am married to Linda and we have three grown up children, five grandchildren and are foster parents to a family of three teenagers.
Together we have a a passion to see church become a place where people are welcomed, nurtured and reach their potential through the transformational love and power of God and learn to live the life promised by Jesus.
We also want to see the church here in Denton make a great contribution to our community and as such, one of our values is that our faith must make a difference where we live.
We believe that the church is a great place to be because the reality of a faith in God is life changing and makes a positive difference in all we do.
Your local church may be the answer you are looking for in life - why not give it a try.

Carmel Christian Centre History
The church has been active since 1946, when Pastor Alf Webb invited people to services in a room above Stevensons Electrical Supplies in Denton. It wasn’t until 1948 that building work was started at the site on Seymour Street in Denton.
In September 1950 Carmel Denton was opened and Pastor Durham became the new pastor. In 1959 a smaller hall was built next to the main building. Mr and Mrs Alf Slater began attending the church. In 1960 Alf as made an elder and remained one until 2005.
In 1969 Carmel Hadfield was opened by Carmel Denton and remains a sister church under the leadership of Bob and Joy Grahamslaw.
In 1977 an extension to the main building was opened which joined the main building to the smaller hall.
In 1985 the name was changed to Carmel Christian Centre and in 1987 Jim and Jackie Bowler took over as joint leaders of the church. They remained leaders until their retirement in June 2006, when the leadership was passed over to Mark Thomas.
