Who we are
Vision, Mission, Values
VISION
Life on Purpose: Each of our lives have purpose. Each of us have a dream to fulfill, work to be done, destinies to live out. One of our greatest fears and deepest sorrows is to see people live aimless, hopeless lives. Our prayer is that when people see us, or our name at least, they would begin to wonder, even subconsciously, why they are here and what's the point of their lives. God has a point and purpose for every person and we want to be the church that helps them discover that purpose in Christ and with the Holy Spirit! Our church revolutionizes the way people do life. Our church will live with transparency and relational authenticity these basic truths: “nobody’s perfect”, “everyone’s welcome”, and “anything is possible.” Whenever anyone walks into our church though they may have walked in alone, they will leave feeling like they are not alone. They see people like them and they see people that like them. Our church will be the place where they encounter the radical love of Jesus Christ. We will be casual AND committed. We will be invitational AND intense. We will challenge both the curious and the core to invite Jesus to make His home in their hearts...and then experience the full, abundant, joyful journey of living with God as deeply committed followers of Jesus Christ. “COME and SEE” what it’s like to be loved enough to be accepted where you are and encouraged not to stay there.
Advance His Kingdom: Our church will gathers…and then scatters. Our mission to point people to life in Jesus Christ must not be limited to what we say and do on a Sunday. Sunday is fuel for the mission. Therefore, the fuel, the message, cannot be diluted or distracting. We must go into the world living what we want to see. We will not just come to church, we will BE the church. We will go across the street and across the world to point people to the full life that is found only in Jesus Christ. We have to empty hell and pack heaven by living lives that show the power of God through the person of the Holy Spirit. “GO and BE” the difference that God longs to see.
MISSION
We exist to point people to life in Jesus Christ.
CONNECT relationally
GROW intentionally
SERVE radically
LEAD spiritually
CORE VALUES
Come as you are. Nobody is perfect. Jesus loves you right where you are, but far to much to leave you there. The fact that you are still breathing says that God is not finished with you yet.
There is more for you and more through you. God gives the followers of Jesus Christ His power through the Holy Spirit. We believe that in order for anything supernatural to happen, then we must live both aware of and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We are connected. What we do has an impact on the world around us and the world ahead of us. Through God-honoring humility, we will put “we before me” every time.
Bring out the best. We will empower people to be both spiritually-aware and self-aware to bring about true transformational leadership through our church.
Be rich in generosity. God blesses us to be a blessing. We will leverage our resources to bless others.
Be simple, excellent, and focused. The mission God has entrusted to us is too big to be boring, too compelling to be casual, too simple to be cluttered, and too distinct to get distracted.

LIFEpoint Wesleyan Church History
Our History
Our Local Legacy
In 1966 a group of dedicated Christ followers gathered together in a garage in Waldorf to study the Bible and pray for God's will. Those faithful 30 people became Waldorf Wesleyan Church. As those 30 some people continued to pray and believe God for more, they outgrew their space. But without the resources to build a traditional church they expanded the garage, put in some stained glass, a pulpit and pews, and continued to pray for revival to happen in Southern Maryland. In 1997 they moved to La Plata, Maryland and changed their name to New Life Wesleyan Church. In 2006, New Life planted the Vine Church, and in 2008, the Garage Church. Knowing they could be stronger together, The Garage and The Vine merged together in 2012 to become LifePoint Church. LifePoint Church proudly opened its doors to Phase 1 on February 28, 2016 on Route 228. As the Lord leads, we long to reach more people with the love of God through church planting (in our local region) and campus expansion (with Phases 2 and 3 at our current location) .
Our Area Partnership
Those faithful 30 Christ-followers that met in a garage 50 years ago has now grown into over 5000 believers worshipping Jesus across the metro DC area. LifePoint Church is honored to be a part of bursting network of partnerships and unified ministry known as the New Life Network of Churches. To learn more, click here: http://newlife.network
