Abundant Life Family Church History
Pastor Gil and Emily Kisling graduated in May of 1994 from Rhema Bible Training Center. In August of 1994, we began to pioneer a church in Lincoln, Nebraska by meeting in a motel, and then on Wednesday nights in a home.
Fourteen months later we moved into a car dealership at 21st & P Street. In 1997, we moved to 40th and Sheridan Blvd. where we shared the facility with Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. We were at this location for almost 3 years.
In June of 2000, Wyuka funeral home offered their facility to us on Sundays only. We met on Wednesday nights in the Lutheran Chapel on the University of Nebraska campus. In June of 2001, we purchased the facility at 1145 Furnas Ave. We praise God for His faithfulness and always providing for us.
ALFC is a growing, caring place of worship where the practical application of God's Word is being taught. ALFC is a Rhema Affiliate. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Pastor Gil is licensed and ordained through the Rhema Ministerial Association International. As a Rhema affiliate, we are accountable to this organization. Pastor Gil is the Senior Pastor and ultimately responsible before God for the operation of this local church.
As a non-profit organization, our church is supported by the regular contributions (tithes and offerings) of those who attend. As a result, we believe that the church and the members who follow His plan for tithes and offerings, will be blessed financially by the Lord as He promises in Malachi 3:10. In addition, our church endeavors to contribute 10% of our annual church income back into the work of God by supporting missionaries and ministries here in the States and around the world.
We believe that where God guides, He provides. By God's grace and wisdom, in good stewardship, our church will be blessed financially through the faithful giving of those who attend ALFC, and the generosity of family and friends.
When starting ALFC, God gave Pastor Gil two specific Bible passages. Daniel 11:32b (NKJ) "The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits".
Whatever the climate of international tension, economic upheaval, and spiritual change is, this Word from the Lord tells us that we Christians will not only survive, but we have been promised that miracles will accompany our Christian witness. The greatest miracle of all is when a person becomes Born Again.
The Church of Jesus Christ is not getting weaker and weaker as the end of time approaches; it is getting stronger and stronger. We will know the Lord more and more, have a prevailing and increasing strength, and do notable signs, and wonders, and miracles in the mighty Name of Jesus. Our future is spelled victory.
The second scripture God gave Pastor Gil is John 10:10b "I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly". With such an awesome promise, we need to be in faith and patience as God unfolds His plan for our lives, individually and corporately. Our God who is More than Enough, wants to bless us exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the Power that works in us. May we cooperate with our Father God as He pours out His blessings upon us His children and to all those who call on the Name of Jesus as Lord and Savior. To God be the Glory.
The vision for ALFC that God has given to Pastor Gil is "to know God, and to tell others". As we endeavor to do this in all areas of ministry at ALFC, we will see the vision continually taking place.

"I would rather train twenty men to pray, than a thousand to preach; A minister's highest mission ought to be to teach his people to pray."
