Who we are
We are a Bible believing, evangelical church in Aldan, Pennsylvania that has been serving Delaware County and the greater Philadelphia area for 100 years. We take a strong stand on the authority and inerrancy of the Bible and believe that its teaching directs us to one condition of eternal salvation, which is accepting by faith through God’s grace the Lord Jesus Christ as one’s personal Savior. We believe that God is a great God and worthy of our worship, so we will worship Him in many ways and varied styles.
Aldan Union Vision
The Vision Slogan:
Growing in Christ and Reaching Out to the World
The Vision Statement:
“To be a spiritually healthy church, that is committed to the inerrant Word of God, promoting loving obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ and spiritual growth for the whole church family in a multi-faceted ministry, and reaching out in love as salt, light, and fragrance to our community, county, country, and continents.”
The Vision Implications:
Healthy at home: Part of our vision must include a strong, healthy church whose ultimate vision is of God. We cannot help others effectively when we are weak. We need a strong home base church spiritually and financially to support a worldwide missionary program.
Healthy spiritually: We first need to commit ourselves anew and afresh to the Lord. Our commitment must show itself in our prayer lives, in our support of the Church Covenant, including our attendance and giving as God intends, and in committing to excellence in everything we do. We want to offer our best to the Lord.
Healthy servants: Aldan Union Church has been richly blessed by God. It therefore follows that we have a biblical mandate to be an instrument of blessing to others – “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48b). God has blessed us with spiritual resources, including a Godly tradition and heritage. He has blessed us with financial resources, building and property resources, and people resources. We are expected to invest these resources in the lives of others. We need to be an example of a church that is a servant leader.

Aldan Union Church Service Times
Contemporary Service – Sunday @ 9:00am
This service is designed to be participatory, less formal, a little more relaxed than more traditional services. Music is varied with a Worship Team leading the singing, accompanied by a variety of musical instruments. We usually study one book of the Bible from beginning to end in a verse by verse study, attempting to give clear insight and practical understanding to what the Bible teaches. This service attempts to be creative, innovative, and evolving – all the while encouraging true worship to be directed to God, Who is both personal and awe-inspiring at the same time.
Bible School – Sunday @ 10:20am
Bible School classes are conducted for all ages. There are adult classes, classes for students from Kindergarten right through college age, plus periodic electives. There is also a nursery available during this time for our youngest attendees
Traditional Service – Sunday @ 11:30am
This service is designed to be participatory in a more formal sense than a contemporary service. The choir usually sings. The congregation sings with the use of a hymnbook, accompanied by organ. The style of the service can be somewhat liturgical, often recalling our beliefs as expressed in such actions as reciting the Apostles’ Creed or the Nicene Creed; singing the Doxology; and reading Scripture together in unison or responsively. We usually study one book of the Bible from beginning to end in a verse by verse study, attempting to give clear insight and practical understanding to what the Bible teaches.
Evening Service – Sunday @ 6:30pm
This service is relaxed and often is a blending of the two morning service styles. There is singing, special music, and a message from the Bible similar to the morning service messages. Often there are testimonies from members of the congregation. From time to time, particularly around the holidays, there will be a special musical service in the evening. There is opportunity afforded for children, young people, and others from the congregation to participate in the music and other areas of the service.
Prayer Meeting – Wednesday @ 7:00pm
On Wednesday evening the church gathers for a short time of singing and a devotional challenge, followed by a sharing of requests and a good time of prayer in small groups throughout the facility. We have prayer groups for men, women, couples, singles, newcomers, children, and encourage you to pray in pairs or any combination you would like. Come as a family and pray as a family group if you like.
