Who we are
All Saints’ began as a Sunday School Mission of Holy Saviour Church in 1958 at MacGregor School. During 1959, All Saints’ became a separate mission parish with Allan Barker, the first Rector, 1958-1964. Services alternated between Northdale School and the original Renison College at 193 Albert Street. The first Church building at Hazel and Hickory Streets was dedicated by Bishop George Luxton and Bishop Harold Appleyard in November 1961. All Saints’ became a self supporting, debt-free parish in 1968. In these years of growth, the parish was served by Terrence Findlay, 1964-1966, now Bishop of Toronto and William Hockin, 1966-1971, now Coadjutor Bishop of Fredericton.
All Saints’ realized a dream in 1981. After years of planning and negotiation, a new church building was created at Northfield and Highpoint Street. This Church Centre represented practical ecumenical progress as it was planned jointly and was to be shared by All Saints’ Anglican and Waterloo North Presbyterian Churches. The Rectors of All Saints’ leading up to this event included Dennis Hayden, 1971-1974, now Archdeacon; Neil Carver, 1974-1980, now Canon; and David Morris, 1980-1998, named Canon while a rector of All Saints’. The Service of Dedication took place in March 1982 and was conducted for the Anglicans by the Bishop of Huron, The Rt. Rev. David Ragg, assisted by the Rector, David Morris.
The objective of an improved worship area was finally reached through a spirit of determination, generosity, and compromise. Bishop Robert Townshend, assisted by Canon David Morris, dedicated the enhanced Church Centre for the Anglicans in January 1997. Through leasing, the Olive Branch Mennonite Church joined the partnership in 1993-1999. With the stage set for the new century at All Saints’, Canon Morris retired in June 1998 after eighteen years as the Rector. The parish welcomed Canon Robin Lyons and his family to lead this new phase of parish life at All Saints’.

Forgive us
O God, forgive the poverty and the pettiness of our prayers . Listen not to our words but to the yearnings of our hearts. Hear beneath our petitions the crying of our need.
