A CONGREGATION OF THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATiON
ALL SOULS IS A WELCOMING AND AFFIRMING CONGREGATION
WELCOME TO All Souls Miami. Like Miami, we are a mixed lot of all ages and backgrounds. We are, however, committed to liberal Christianity and all religious expression grounded in fellowship, a regular meal (Communion, Agape) and contemporary preaching that begins in Christian, Jewish and other religious insights. We have people that delight in miracles, probably have a mystic or two and several who are atheist and/or staunch secular humanist.
Our members come from a wide variety of religious backgrounds and have often found neither a welcome or acceptance in established local faith communities. That All Souls was founded at all is a miracle in itself. Are there such liberal and "welcoming and affirming" faith communities in Miami? The fact is you can probably count them all on one hand and in West Kendall there are no churches that are committed to liberal Christianity and its connectedness to other great religions of the world.
So, here we are - inclusive of all, exclusive of none. If you are seeking, view faith as a journey or find inspiration in all sorts and conditions of belief, we hope you will find All Souls worthy of a visit. Welcome. Come and share with us.

Leader Bio:
Dr. Claus, 'The Vicah,' comes with an interesting bio to say the least. He is a long term survivor of both a heart transplant and alcoholism. He has been a large church sr. minister, a hostage negotiator and has just finished teaching (after 23 years) English literature and composition at Florida International University as well as founding the Religious Studies program at Miami Dade College- Kendall campus where he is still the lead REL teacher. Dr. Claus graduated from Union Theological Seminary (affiliated with Columbia University) and received his doctorate from Boston University. His major work in seminary was early church history and the history and practice of Christian worship.
He is married to Maria Teresa Estrada. Together they have four children and two wire-haired Dachshunds - The Wizard & Sadie Maria. Dr. Claus is an avid consumer of 'steampunk' and Victorian crime procedurals and 'page turner' thrillers.
Rate My Professors listed Dr. Claus as one of the top 25 professors in the U.S. for 2009-2010 ( he was 19th); in 2011 the student body of F.I.U. elected him out of 7,000 faculty to give the first 'What Would You Say' (if it was your last lecture). Miami Dade College -Kendall heard that same lecture also in 2011.
Dr. Claus is an Associate Member, the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association. Â
