Who we are
Amersham Free Church Mission Statement
We are an ecumenical congregation (comprising Baptist, United Reformed and other Christians, with strong Church of Scotland connections) and exist:
to offer worship to God through our Lord Jesus Christ and to celebrate the gospel sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
to make the good news of Jesus Christ known, in Amersham and beyond, through words, actions, lifestyle and pastoral care.
to encourage the growth, both in numbers and spirituality, of our own congregation and the use of their gifts in church and community life.
to work and pray for Christian unity, world mission, global justice and peace.

Junior Church
Children aged 3-11 are welcome at Amersham Free Church on Sunday mornings. We begin in church at 10.30am for morning worship, then after a song or two , a prayer and a talk the children leave with 2 leaders for their Roundabout group. A story from the Bible is chosen for each month, and after listening to, or acting out, or re-telling that story, there is an activity involving painting, or woodwork, or cooking, or computer games, or model making…anything that a member of the congregation wants to share with the children.

Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul. Thank you for staying with me even in my unbelief.
