Who we are
Serving God and helping others since 1898...
The current church building in Arden was built by local families, dedicated and opened on August 15th, 1954. This new brick building replaced the former church which was destroyed by fire on March 5th, 1952. It had been built for the original Methodist congregation in 1898.
The Arden congregation meets for worship each Sunday morning at 10 am with a coffee time after the service.
The annual Arden Cemetery Service will be held on Sunday, July 17th, 2016 at 2 pm.
We have a young people's group, the GEEC's (God's Evil Exterminating Crew) which meets twice monthly and hosts an annual Vacation Bible School in August. (Link to our Facebook page)
The interior of the church features large stained glass windows behind the communion table. The pulpit was a gift from the Mountain Grove congregation. The Cross was a gift from the Matson family. The pulpit Bible was a gift of Professor J.M. Shaw, of the former Queen's Theological College in Kingston. The ceiling, featuring local pine, was a project the congregation completed in 2008.

"Yes, Lord! Jesus, I give all of this to you. Jesus," I just started out a dream for my neighbourhood. "I didn't ask you to make me a messenger to the world. I just wanted to love my neighbours. But Jesus, here it is. Here's my future, here's my loneliness, here are all the pressures, here are the criticism", and I gave Him everything. And I told Him to take me again and I would try to make "Yes, Lord" the continuing motto of my life..
