Who we are
Welcome to Artillery Street
We are a church! A community of ordinary people from different walks of life who worship an extraordinary God.
A Bible Church. That’s what ‘evangelical’ means. We are fully convinced of the truth and reliability of the Bible as God’s revealed Word. We try and live our lives and run our church by the Bible.
We have two worship services at 11am and 5pm. The morning Service is designed to help people who are seeking to find out more about the Christian faith. There’s no dress code, come as you are! Singing, prayer and Bible teaching forms a key part of each service. There’s also classes for the children in the mornings.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are fully set out in the Basis of Faith of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches of which Artillery Street Evangelical Church is a member.
The following is a simple breakdown of our beliefs, of which we are persuaded from God’s Word – the Bible:
First of all we believe in God, the one who created us. We are responsible to Him. He is the Ruler of all and Saviour for all who trust in Him. We are accountable to Him.
We believe the Bible is God’s message book telling us about what we need to know about Him. It is infallible, without any errors, our authority in all matters spiritual and moral.
We believe that man was originally created perfect but then through disobeying God’s command ruined both himself and creation.
Jesus is an historical figure. We believe He not only existed as a man but was also God. He came with the express purpose of dealing with man’s disobedience.
We believe the good news of the Gospel, that Jesus is able to forgive us all our wrong (sin) and make us acceptable in the sight of God – if we put our faith in Him.
We believe that we can do nothing to earn our way into God’s good books. It is only by asking Jesus to forgive us and putting our trust in Him that we can be made right in God’s eyes.

Artillery Street Evangelical Church Service Times
Everyone is welcome to either of our Sunday Services of worship at 11am or 5.00pm.
Our services are simple and meaningful. They usually include hymns, Bible readings, prayer and a sermon. The idea being that we come to worship God and hear what He has to say to us through His Word.
We fully appreciate that ‘going to church’ is not a very common practice in today’s secular society. With this in mind, you will find us very ‘user friendly’.
However, there is a wonderful promise from God’s Son, the Lord Jesus, to those who are prepared to attend to what God has to say to us:
“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John’s Gospel chapter 8 verses 31-32).
It's been more than 8 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
