Who we are
We are Christians; a group of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who meet in the gospel hall, Banbridge.

1 Corinthians, chapter 15 verse 3
The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3v23) and consequently, every one of us "must be born again" (John 3v7). The wondrous message of the gospel is that, while God despises our sin, He loves each and every individual, and demonstrated this when He gave His one and only Son to be our Saviour. Because of Christ's "one sacrifice for sins forever" (Hebrews 10v12), God now freely offers salvation, forgiveness and peace to "whosoever will" (Revelation 22v17). "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"According to the pattern"
In 1863, a number of Christians in Banbridge began meeting together on the first day of the week. Their simple objective was to follow the teaching given in the Holy Scriptures and the practice of the disciples in the days following Pentecost.
Similar to individuals recorded for us in the Bible, these were ordinary folks who, though few in number, aspired towards "the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him" and to be content with unadorned obedience to the Word of God.
Hence, the roots of the assembly in Banbridge closely follow the vibrant days of the 1859 revival, while as yet no permanent premises was established. Nevertheless, Gospel work continued steadfastly in these days with Gospel meetings being held in a variety of halls, barns and other venues across the town.
The present hall
In time, the issue of accommodation for growing numbers became in insoluble problem and, with no suitable alternative building to be found, the decision to build the current Gospel hall was reached with lengthy, prayerful deliberation.
In part orchestrated by a circular entitled "Build the house, and I will take pleasure in it" (Haggai 1v8), the building work commenced in 1924, reaching completion in March 1925. It is recorded that, hearing the Gospel preached on the occasion of opening the hall, a woman trusted Christ for salvation. "The God of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build" Neh 2v20
The above building remains the gathering place of the believers to this present day, while we await "an house not made with hands" 2 Corinthians 5v1, "that is, an heavenly" Heb 11v16.
