Who we are
What We Believe
Although Baptist churches can vary greatly from extremely conservative to very liberal in their social and political views, we want to make sure that what we believe and teach in our church is based on the Bible.
It’s not only Baptist churches that do this. Many other churches, even those without the name Baptist also believe that the Bible was inspired by God and preserved so that people could know what God said. What follows is what our church believes and what we want the city of Green Bay to know.
WE BELIEVE the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be divinely inspired, inerrant, and only infallible Word of God.
WE BELIEVE that there is one triune God as revealed in the Bible, eternally existent in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one, but distinct in person and function.
WE BELIEVE God the Father is the first person of the trinity. As infinite Spirit, He is the source, support, and end of all things. He is the creator, speaker of revelation, author of redemption, and sovereign of history.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the second person of the trinity. We believe in His deity, his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, and His bodily ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. He is the agent of conviction, regeneration, indwelling, baptism, sanctification, and illumination of all who are born into God’s family through Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE the universe and everything in it was created by God in six literal days.
WE BELIEVE that salvation is the free gift of God received only by repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved will be raised to eternal life, and those who are lost will be raised to eternal damnation.
WE BELIEVE that God has ordained the local church for the perpetuation of His truth and work in the world.
WE BELIEVE in the literal, visible return of our Savior, Jesus Christ for all believers. The rapture of the saints will be followed by the Lord’s wrath upon the unbelieving world.
WE BELIEVE in a personal new birth. We believe that in order to be saved from Hell, all men must be born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The new birth is a result of repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE in the blood atonement for sin. The salvation of sinners is wholly by grace, that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, shedding His blood on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice.

Dress Code
The first thing we want you to know is that we welcome anyone who walks through our front doors no matter what. We know God looks inside and sees the heart. We care about people, and their hearts are our first concern.
In the interest of helping you feel at home, you’ll want to know that many who attend Bay City Baptist Church come dressed in smart casual or business casual attire.
Church should not be a place where we dress-to-impress others with the latest fashions. God Himself should take center stage and not us. And since we’re coming to worship our Creator, neither should church be a place where we dress sloppy. Clean, comfortable, and appropriate clothing is welcome anywhere, even in church.
No matter how you come, we’ll be glad you’re here.

Bay City Baptist Church History
Our Story
The year was 1967 and four families were excited…
They were planting the seeds of a new church in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The city was in a spiritual drought and they wanted this new church to be different from other churches.
That small and determined group held their first meeting in a home at 231 North Chestnut in the heart of the city. Bay City Baptist Church in Green Bay was born.
God has blessed us. And we’ve grown. After meeting in a few different locations God gave us a permanent home at 1840 Bond Street where we still meet today. We’ve completed a few building projects that have provided space for every kind of activity you can imagine. God has given us a wonderful combination of location, property, and building space. We’re glad to use it for His glory.
Though we’ve grown over the years, we have never been interested numbers. Sure, we want to grow, but size will never be our goal. We want to love God and others, and be faithful to Him (Matthew 22:37-38). We want to bring Him glory and make Him known in Green Bay and around the world.
Where does the story go from here? Only God knows. We’re willing to follow Him wherever the road leads…and maybe you’ll be a part of it.
Our prayer: God, thank you for Jesus, for your gift of atoning love, the forgiveness of sins, and a wonderful hope for the future. You have re-created us and made us new. Help us to love you more deeply in the days to come. Help us to make you known in this world. And may we be faithful to you to the end.

My hidden sins
Here they are, Lord Jesus, my hidden sins. I bring them out of the secret chamber of my heart. I take them out of the darkness and expose them to Your light. Lord, You have promised You will execute Your word upon the earth, thoroughly and quickly. Oh God, thoroughly cleanse my heart; purify me quickly!
