Belle Isle Community Church History
God established the church to be his vehicle for people to experience God’s love and salvation. So, with great joy, God planted a church in Pine Castle, Florida to be a beacon of hope.
In the late 1800s, early settlers met for worship and Sunday School in the schoolhouse, blacksmith’s shop and homes. The Union Church, constructed in 1901, housed the Methodist, Baptist, and Missionary Alliance congregations. Methodist circuit riders served Pine Castle until 1943 when a full-time minister could be afforded.
In March of 1958, construction of the fellowship hall was completed and served as the sanctuary for the church. The two-story educational building was completed in 1962. God blessed the people because of their faithfulness, and it was decided to build the present sanctuary. The first service was held on March 12, 1967.
During the first six months of 2022, our Leadership Team, Lay Ministry Team, and a few other members of our church navigated us through a rebranding process. More than just a name or a new color scheme, we sought the heart and direction of God for our church. We listened, patiently, for His voice. And He responded.
One word kept coming up: Community. Pine Castle UMC became Belle Isle Community Church.
In August of 2023, Belle Isle Community Church joined the Global Methodist Church.
