Who we are
Our Vision
A Life of Quality and Quantity
"...I am come that they might have life, and that they have it more abundantly." St. John 10:10 Authorized King James Version
Our Mission
Beloved Apostolic Church of God's primary mission is to evangelize and lead lost souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
To reveal to each one the divine revelation of Jesus Christ; therefore equipping them with the knowledge of how to live a victorious and abundant life.
Our Creed
We believe that Jesus is God and there is no other beside Him.
We believe that there are three that bear record in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. These three are manifested in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God; the Creator of all things; the Alpha and the Omega; the Beginning and the End.
We believe that water baptism in Jesus' name is an essential part of the New Testament Salvation and not just an outward sign of inner cleansing.
We believe that proper water baptism is necessary to salvation, therefore, it is more than a part of the local Church membership.

Beloved Apostolic Church History
The Beloved Apostolic Church of God was not born out of desperation, speculation or personal motivation, but of the Divine Inspiration from God.
It took a Vision!
In 1976, Beloved Apostolic Church of God was born with faith, hope, love, prayer, and Divine Inspiration from God. With just one member
(his wife), the late Pastor Jessie J. Rankin and Mother Annie B. Rankin founded and built the Beloved Apostolic Church of God. They listened to the mandate of Jesus Christ to preach the good news to everyone, including the poor and the brokenhearted.
With the help of his wife, his daughters, Earlene (Rankin) Hart and Doris (Rankin) Polnitz, Elder and Sister Clarence King, and a few dedicated saints, a great miracle was in the making for Bishop and Mother Rankin. God answered their prayers. Great things are wrought by prayer.
Bishop and Mother Rankin faced many challenges and hardships. Many adversaries came their way trying to discourage them, but they alleviated those discouragements by speaking the Word of God: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper." (Isaiah 54:17 KJV).
Beloved was powerfully blessed with great men, women, and children who stood up for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In the early '80s, Bishop Rankin became ill. Unable to continue his tasks, he contacted Elder Johnny Cunningham regarding the Lord's work. The saints understood that there was a need to continue laboring in the vineyard. On November 29, 1984, Bishop Rankin went home to be with the Lord. He left behind a legacy that will forever be remembered. Bishop Rankin was a man of faith, integrity, and wisdon - who lived to serve others.
The saints were determined to hold to God's unchanging hand. Mother Rankin, with her sweet and kind words, would often encourage them to "trust in the Lord, and don't give up hope." She said, "I want to see the vision carried on...winning souls for Jesus."
In April of 1999, Beloved celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new church facility to be constructed on 700 Roosevelt Avenue in Selma, Alabama. It would have a seating capacity of approximately five hundred. As Mother of Beloved, Mother Annie B. Rankin was excited about the groundbreaking as she put her shovel in the ground. She realized that she was paving the way for future souls to be saved.
God called Mother Annie B. Rankin home to rest on June 22, 1999. The Beloved Apostolic Church of God will continue with Dr. Johnny F. Cunningham as Pastor, Overseer, and Visionary.
To God Be the Glory!
The wheels of progress were set in motion. A lot was purchased for $800.00 on 402 Gray Street in Selma, Alabama. A small wooden frame was purchased and moved to that site. It was named Beloved Apostolic Church of God.
Although Beloved was still under construction, the doors were opened for all to come and worship with the Lord in the beauty of Holiness. God made room for the saints! The speaker of the hour was none other than Bishop Rankin himself.
Over a period of time, backsliders were reclaimed, souls were saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. The saints were speaking in tongues as the Spirit of the Lord gave them utterance. Sisters Doris Polnitz and Earlene Hart were also saved under Bishop Rankin's ministry.
Bishop Rankin was led by God to go out on the street corners, by-ways, and highways to preach the unadulterated Word. Men, women, boys, and girls wer compelled to come to Jesus and be saved upon hearing the Word.
August 7, 1977 was the dedication of Beloved Apostolic Church of God. With the theme,"So we built the wall, and the wall was joined together unto the half thereof; for the people had a mind to work." (Nehemiah 4:6 KJV 1611). Many pastors, members, and friends came from far and near, joined hearts and hands in prayer for Beloved, with the late Pastor, Elder Arthur L. Owens from Boston, Massachusetts as the speaker.
August 3, 1980 was the Laying of the Cornerstone. The theme, (20) "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and phophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; (21) In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord: (22) In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:20-22 KJV 1611) On that glorious day, the Spirit of the Lord illuminated the entire building. The guest speaker was Elder Johnny Cunningham of Century, Florida. After the service, the saints stayed for a short ceremony of the Laying of the Cornerstone in front of the church. Elder Allen Barnett conducted the ceremony, after which dinner was served on the church grounds.
In July of 1988, the third Sunday to be exact, the saints were in regular order of service, when suddenly, Elder Johnny Cunningham walked through the doors. He announced that Bishop Ward had sent him to pastor Beloved if the saints wanted him. The saints rejoiced and thanked God for answering their prayers, with Mother Eulean Edwards declaring, “you are not our affiliate pastor any more, but our pastor.” Since that time, the vision God had given Bishop Rankin has moved forward. God is blessing the membership to grow and souls are still being saved.

Teach me
Teach me, O God, to use all the circumstances of my life to-day that they may bring forth in me the fruits of holiness rather than the fruits of sin. Let me use disappointment as material for patience: Let me use success as material for thankfulness: Let me use suspence as material for perseverance: Let me use danger as material for courage: Let me use reproach as material for longsuffering: Let me use praise as material for humility: Let me use pleasures as material for temperance: Let me use pains as material for endurance.
