Who we are
Berean Baptist Church is a group of believers who are committed to clear, uncompromising Bible exposition and the proclamation of the gospel. If you live in the East Columbus/Pickerington area, or are just passing through, we would love to welcome you to one of our Sunday services or our mid-week Bible study and prayer time.
We Meet Sunday morning at 9:00am for both children and adult Sunday school classes. Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 am and our Sunday evening service begins at 6:00PM. Our Wednesday evening Bible study and Prayer time begins at 7:00PM. Our AWANA Club meets during this time as well.

Focus on Jesus Christ: We believe that there is no other name given under heaven whereby we might be saved. We believe He is the author and finisher of our faith. We believe that Scripture calls everyone to repent and that only through His redemptive work and by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is there salvation.
Focus on The Word of God: It is our ambition to diligently preach and teach from the Bible. We simply and with dedication want people to be exposed to the truth of God’s Word. Much like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 we call the hearers to be more noble-minded by receiving the Word with great eagerness and to examine the Scriptures to see if these things are so.
Focus on Worship: It is our aim to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ in preaching, song or in prayer. Our music is not designed to be entertaining or like everybody else, but to honor Jesus Christ and to allow the singer to understand the words of the song with its depth and beauty. We want the lyrics to minister grace to the hearts of the congregation.
Focus on Service and Fellowship: As a church we are concerned for one another. One of the hallmarks of a true Christian is that they love. Part of the love that we show may be to encourage each other and edify one another in the faith. We also want to help with the spiritual needs of others both inside and outside the church. We desire that others might know Jesus Christ and so we attempt to love others enough to tell them about salvation in Christ alone.

Pastor Joe Divelbiss is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary. Joe is married to Deborah, and they have 4 children. Prior to arriving at Berean Baptist Church, Joe completed 20 years of service in the military, which included active-duty time in the United States Marine Corps, Reserve service in the Army National Guard, combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and training exercises in various countries and climates.
Joe also has various ministry experiences serving in the context of the local church, with outreach and evangelism, as a full-time Hospice Chaplain, and as an Army Chaplain in the National Guard. Joe enjoys spending free time with family, and almost any activity having to do with the outdoors and nature.
