Bethel Baptist is an Independent Baptist Church in the oil country of West Texas, just 35 miles from the Odessa – Midland area.
We would be honored if you chose to join us for a worship service. You will find when you visit Bethel Baptist that our congregation loves the Lord and loves people. During our services, you can expect to experience Expository Preaching with an aim to present Christ to the unbeliever and challenge Christians to live with the Triune God in mind, doing all to His glory. We offer traditional worship, careful and deep doctrinal teaching in our Sunday Morning Bible Study time, a Children’s Church and unstaffed Nursery area during the Morning Service, as well as a small Spanish ministry.
We would be so glad if you came to join us as we seek to honor God by lifting Him up in His word.

Bethel Baptist Church History
In 1976, 38 year old Gordon Cox answered the call to become the Pastor of Sandhill Baptist Church in Monahans, TX.
In 1978, Monahans Baptist Church and Sandhills Baptist Church voted to bring their congregations together under a new church name. The membership of Sandhills Baptist came and joined to the membership of Monahans Baptist, the combined fellowships utilizing the much needed space that was available on the property of Monahans Baptist at the corner of 3rd and Doris, reforming under a new church name, Bethel Baptist Church.
For 46 more years, Gordon Cox pastored Bethel Baptist, until his retirement in 2024, taking the position of Pastor Emeritus on December 1st, 2024, at the age of 86.
On October 20th, 2024, 38 year old Justin Rhodes held his first service as the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.
