Who we are
Welcome to Bolton Villas Church
Bolton Villas is a friendly, welcoming Christian church, seeking to serve the people who live, work, study, visit or worship in Wrose, Swain House and the surrounding area. Bolton Villas seeks to be a community space with a spiritual heart.
If you are looking for somewhere to hold a community event - then this is the place.
If you are looking to find out about the Christian faith - then this is the place.
We are a community of people of all ages who have discovered that following Jesus gives us a hope and purpose for our lives. We see the Christian Faith as a journey of discovery - about ourselves, about our world, and about the God who made us.
We have a team of elders who prayerfully lead the church on a day to day basis, and many other members who play vital roles in church life - all working together to keep the church moving in the direction God wants.
From a denominational standpoint, we are part of the United Reformed Church (URC). For more information on the URC see the denomination website - www.urc.org.uk.
We are also members of the evangelical alliance and support a number of other organisations in Bradford and Leeds areas, as well as some international mission agencies. We know God has a concern for us and for the wider world in which we live.

Bolton Villas United Reformed Church Service Times
Sunday Worship
As a Church we hold regular services of worship on a Sunday morning starting at 10.30am and it is open to everyone.
The children have their own activities during part of the service on most Sundays, except the 3rd Sunday of the month, when all ages stay together for an 'All Age Worship' service.
Our worship time is very relaxed, varied and informal, but always Bible-based. If you think of churches as quiet places where everyone seems to be hiding from God behind a pew, try us, you'll be surprised!
We'd love to see you and give you and your family a warm welcome. Why not this Sunday? - set the alarm clock a bit earlier, and come out for a bit of spiritual refreshment.
It's been more than 6 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Under 12s:
Adam & Eve's Toddler group
We are a friendly group of parents, child minders and grandparents who love meeting together while our children enjoy a variety of activities e.g. sit and ride toys, push alongs, small and large construction, home corner, musical instruments, dressing-up, books, craft activities – glueing, painting cutting, etc.
On average about 14-16 adults and 20-25 children come to each session.
Woffle Club
Most Sundays children aged 5-12 years, leave the main service part way through for activities and teaching suitable for their age in Woffle Club.
In Woffle Club we sing, pray, discover the Bible together, make things and play games. We learn about God's amazing plan for us in the Bible and what difference that can make to our lives at home and at school.
Kidz@bv
Kidz@bv is the place to come to have fun, make new friends and learn about God.
Each Thursday during term-time, 15-20 children meet to play games, listen to stories, sing songs and make things to take home. New children are always welcome, just come along and see for yourself.

Saturday Seniors
We are a community based group meeting in Bolton Villas' Church once a month. Our main activity is to provide a Saturday evening social for seniors aged 55+. This consists of a buffet tea plus entertainment. We have a varied programme of events including visiting choirs, small musical groups, games evenings, talks etc. We organise an annual summer outing (previously we have visited Spalding bulb fields, Rhos on Sea, Hawes and Southport) and we have a Christmas party.
We are a fun loving group and believe laughter is a good tonic which contributes to both mental and physical well-being and our speakers are chosen with this in mind.
We are a non-denominational group and the meeting welcomes anyone within the age range specified. Any member of the group is welcome to contribute towards the evening in any form and most of our members who are physically able, do this.
Our membership is 86 and rising with an average of 56 per meeting. We provide a mini bus for those who do not have their own transport and are unable to walk to the meeting. We are organised solely by unpaid volunteers who undertake the Secretary, Treasurer and other roles within the group as well as the organisation of the tea and entertainment at the meeting. We are affiliated to Age Concern.
