Cabool Assembly of God History
Cabool Assembly of God began with a group of Pentecostal believers meeting in the upstairs room of a business on Main Street. The year was 1935.
The small congregation later gathered in a home, then in 1942 a lot was purchased on the corner of Hickory and Durnell and a building was constructed that served the church until 1995. The structure was stucco and men from the congregation gathered rock and covered the building half way up, making a unique design. A small parsonage was built that matched and it served pastor’s families for many years until in 1982 an adjoining lot was purchased and the present parsonage was built.
In 1995 construction was begun on a new building at 1344 Ozark Street. The bulk of the work was accomplished with the help of 22 RV couples who came from several states, parking their RVs on the lot and working diligently. Local members of the congregation also gave generously of their time, labor and resources and the building was completed and dedicated in March of 1996.
Over the years the church has been served by pastors of various ages and backgrounds each building on the foundation of God’s Word, preaching Salvation thru Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

"I would rather train twenty men to pray, than a thousand to preach; A minister's highest mission ought to be to teach his people to pray."
