Who we are
Our faith family is a local fellowship that seeks by the grace of God to love others and love God, inviting all into a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, including them in the family of God (the church), and challenging them to invest their lives in His Kingdom development through obedient living (Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 22:37-40; Luke 11:28). Grace is the hallmark of our relationship with God and each other.
We blend contemporary and traditional elelments of worship, but always focus on being Bible based in all we do as a fellowship. We are certain that the Word of God (the Bible) is just that - God's personal revelation of His will and Himself to us in written form. It is God's love letter to us! We believe that God's Word is God breathed by the Holy Spirit - infallible, inerrant, and completely trustworthy to get to know God, connect to God, and build healthy lives upon it (Psalm 1:1-5; Psalm 19:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We believe all generations should worship together and build one another up through encouragement, shared wisdom, and service to one another and our community. We are better together! (Hebrews 10:24-25; Hebrews 3:13; Matthew 18:20). We think that relationships make the world go around - really. Relationship with God, each other, and His Word make this life rich and rewarding. We all need friends and those who look out and care for us - so we value relationships highly. We love one another!

Leader Bio:
Hello, my name is Greg Teel. My wife Kim and our family with three kids and one Australian cattle dog came to Delta in September of 2014. Until that time we had lived in Colorado Springs and were blessed to served a great church family at Vista Grande Baptist Church for 21 years. We are now excited to be part of this wonderful community and are blessed to serve this exciting faith family at Calvary Baptist Church! We love being a part of the great community of Delta, Colorado. For our family, ministry is a whole life, whole family commitment.
My pastoral desire is to see people connect to God both personally and together as a church faith family. Jesus Christ is God Almighty and the answer to all that we need in this life and the life to come. He loves us deeply (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8). In fact, it is summed up by Jesus Himself who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God the Father in heaven) except through me." (John 14:6). Jesus also said He came that we "...may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10b). Jesus is the only way to heaven and to a full, rich, fulfilling life now. Therefore we seek and honor Him.
Our church exists to exalt Jesus Christ as Lord through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father. The goal of all we say and do should be to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17).

Calvary Baptist Church History
The first service of this body of Christ was on Sunday night, November 27, 1966 as a mission of First Southern Baptist Church of Ouray, Colorado. We met at the Delta Legion Hall. As a mission, the church was called the First Southern Baptist Church of Delta. In September 1967 the building on Columbia Street was bought, and in September of 1968 the church was constituted and renamed Columbia Street Baptist Church. The name was changed to Delta Southern Baptist Church in September 1969, with 18 charter members of whom none are currently still with us.
The name of the church was changed again on October 8, 1973 to Calvary Baptist Church. The present site on A Street was purchased for $24,000 and the current 16, 300 sq. ft. building was purchased for $24,000 and moved from Littleton, Colorado to Delta and placed on the site. This site was dedicated on October 3, 1976. The Carl & Eva Campbell Memorial Prayer Chapel was built and dedicated on July 21, 1985. We will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2016!
We are blessed to be debt free on all our building and land including an adjacent two acres newly purchased in 2014.
