Cambridge United Methodist Church History
Cambridge Methodist Episcopal Church was organized June 13, 1866 by Rev. W. Dorin. They met in homes until the school was built in 1869 and then they met there. In 1891 a beautiful church was built and dedicated with a cupola and bell. Our current building was enlarged in October 30, 1889. In 1968 we became the United Methodist Church when the United Brethren and Episcopal Methodist joined together.
Cambridge United Methodist Church has been much more than a building, statistics, or ministers. It has been a generation of believers who gathered to study, worship and have fellowship with one another, and to be involved in community as they lived the Christian life.
This is not the end of our story, for evidence is pointing far into the future that we are a people who will continue to be a strong witness for Jesus Christ, as we make Cambridge United Methodist our church home.
