Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church History
The Wesleyan Church has a rich history but ultimately finds its roots in England through the preaching and ministry of John Wesley. In 1844, the Wesleyan Church separated itself from the Methodist Church over the issue of slavery and had been instrumental in leading the way of many historical movements, including civil rights and women's suffrage. Today, The Wesleyan Church is involved in relieving the needs of those suffering around the world and is currently leading the fight against human trafficking.
Chapel Pike's history dates back to the holiness movements of the 1900s. The church started in the kitchen of a few ladies who met to pray for spiritual revival in the Marion community. From this humble beginning, the church has continued to thrive throughout several generations of believers. In 1968, the church officially became a part of the Wesleyan Church and continues this association still.
Our local visions and passions continue to bring the presence of Christ into our community through the lives of God's people living out their faith through their daily living. We have a global vision as well, seeking to share the truth of the gospel message around the world through our support of missionary efforts to share Christ with those who have yet to hear the Good News.

I want to know Thee
Father, I want to know Thee, but my coward heart fears to give up its toys. I cannot part with them without inward bleeding, and I do not try to hide from Thee the terror of the parting. I come trembling, but I do come. Please root from my heart all those things which I have cherished so long and which have become a very part of my living self, so that Thou mayest enter and dwell there without a rival. Then shalt Thou make the place of Thy feet glorious. Then shall my heart have no need of the sun to shine in it, for Thyself wilt be the light of it, and there shall be no night there. In Jesus Name, Amen.
