Christ Creative Baptist Church History
In 1988, Christ Creative Bible Study was given as a vision from God to Dr. George St. Anthony Ferguson, Sr. when he graduated from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH. After passing out 500 flyers in the Largo, MD community, on Friday, September 1. 1989, the first Bible Study was held in the Pastor's home in Upper Marlboro while he was an Associate Minister at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Washington, DC, Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., Pastor. In 1990, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist Convention of Maryland/ Delaware, the Prince George's Baptist Association, Dr. Ron Rogers, Director of Missions, and Calvary Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, Rev. Tom Brown, Pastor, provided financial support to the Church. Dr. Ferguson passed out over 500 flyers in Largo, MD, in April 1990. That financial support lasted for 5 years. On Sunday, May 6, 1990, Christ Creative Baptist Church was founded at Phyllis E. Williams Elementary School by Dr. Ferguson. The Church began with 10 attendees. Sermon Title: In The Beginning God Created, Genesis 1:1-3, Text Genesis 1:1. On that first Sunday, four members joined. The church slowly began to grow but we grew in numbers with faithful members. In 1991, we added our Sunday School and licensed our first teacher and ordained our first Trustee, Sis. Pauline Ferguson. We ordained our first Deacon, Dea./ Trst. Malcolm Clerkly. We licensed our first Minister of Music, Bro. Timothy Bryant, our first Choir Director, Sis. Gwendolyn Clerkley, and our first Usher, Sis. Bernadette Hadley. We began our Usher and Choir ministries. In 1991, Dr. Ferguson was certified as a SBC Seminary Extension Professor. In 1992, we continued to grow. We licensed our first Minister, Min. Nathanial Charles. We began our Children Choir and Youth Choir. We licensed our Youth Minister of Music, Bro. Antwon Jackson. The Pastor was accepted into the doctorate program at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH. In 1993, we moved to the Hampton Mall. We experienced strong grow. We licensed our second Minister of Music, Sis. Janice Collins. We purchased our Choir robes. In 1994, we licensed our Minister of Youth, Sis. Tracy McDaniel. We joined the Share Food Ministry. In 1995, the Pastor earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH. We ordained our second Deacon John McDaniel. In 1998, we became members of the Faith Ministries International with Bisp. Joseph Taylor. In 1999, we had 65 members. We were looking forward to solid growth in the 21st Century. In the 2000s, we lost members but our core members stayed. In 2000, we moved to the Central Baptist Church, Hyattsville, MD to remain alive as a church. We ordained Sis. Joyce Patton as the first female Deacon, and Sis. Bertha Maddox and Sis. Inez Funderburk as Trustees. We licensed Trst. Inez Funderburk as an Usher and Sis. Linda Newell as a Children Sunday School Teacher. In 2001, Dr. Ferguson became the President and a Professor at Faith Ministries International Biblical Institute, Washington, DC. In 2002, we moved to our own facility in Hyattsville, MD. We Licensed Min. John McDaniel. In 2004, we moved to Faith United Church of Christ, Washington, DC, Bisp. Joseph Taylor, Pastor. In 2005, Rev. John McDaniel was selected as the 2nd Pastor of Christ Creative Baptist Church when Dr. Ferguson moved to Charleston, SC to pastor Calvary Baptist Church and to be the President and a Professor at Canaan Bible College. In 2006, Rev. McDaniel moved the Church to Upper Marlboro, MD. From 2007-2011, the Church remained together as a house church in Rev. McDaniel's home. In 2011, we celebrated the Home Going of Sis. Inez Funderburk. In 2012, Rev. McDaniel planned to close the church because of health reasons. However, God had another plan. At the Home Going celebration of Deas. Patton, God moved on Dr. Ferguson to reclaim the pastorate but almost all the remaining members left. May 6, 2012, Dr. Ferguson once again became the Pastor. Sermon Title: In The Beginning God Created Christ Creative Baptist Church, John 1:1-3, Text John 1:1. There were 8 in attendance. Four new members joined: First Lady Lawan Ferguson, Sis. Christ Creative Baptist Church is seeking to refinance on it property to get the equity. The property value has increased and equity has increased. We plan to get most of that equity through a refinance and use the money to build our new sanctuary within a year. Once the new sanctuary is built, the old sanctuary will become the Christ Creative Child Care Center. God promised us many new members who will join our Church and more land to do His Ministry. We want disciples of Christ. We may be a small church but we serve a big GOD and have a big heart for Jesus. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

Accept, O Lord
Accept, O Lord, my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my will. All that I am and have thou hast given to me; and I give all back to thee to be disposed of according to they good pleasure. Give me only the comfort of thy presence and the joy of thy love; with thee I shall be more than rich and shall desire nothing more.
