Christ Image International Church History
Our History
The history of this ministry dates back to August 2014 when Dr. Mbua and Rev. Lydienne Mbua began a house fellowship in their apartment in Round Rock after arriving in the United States on June 3, of the same year.
The fellowship that began with three families soon began to grow and the house became too small to accommodate the numbers. On August 26, 2014 the first official church service was held at the Homewood Suites Hotel, on South Mays in Round Rock.
Sometimes the crowds averaged less than 15 people. Dr. Mbua would teach the Word of God, and Pastor Lydienne would lead the praise and worship. It has not all been rosy; there has been a lot of opposition and persecution too. While many lives have been transformed, several also got offended at the Word of God that was being preached, but through it all, the Lord has been very good to the ministry. With his simplicity, “say it as it is” but profound approach to the Bible, Dr. Steve Mbua has inspired many to pursue their personal relationship with God. Today Christ Image International Church that got started in Round Rock is a growing and is becoming a vibrant church in Austin, Texas with new people attending our services and testifying of the love and goodness of God as the word of God continues to change lives.

Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul.
