Who we are
What We Believe
WE BELIEVE...
There is only one true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible is the inspired word of God---true in every part. Though God created the world perfectly, human beings brought sin into the world, and death came through sin. God saved us purely out of his wonderous love by sending his own Son, Jesus, to live perfectly and pay the full price for our sin by dying for us. Jesus carried the sins of the whole world on the cross, and he gives eternal life in heaven to all who trust in him by faith. Through Christ, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, blessing us with the fruits of faith: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. God has called all people to love him and to love one another.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Do you think about why you exist or about your life's purpose?
Do you wonder about what will happen to you when your life here on earth ends?
If you do, you are not alone; we think about those things too. Many people spend their life endlessly searching for answers to these most important questions.
We believe that God, in his Word, has given us the answers. In Jesus Christ alone we have purpose in this life and hope for eternal life. This is the foundation of the Christian faith.
At Christ Lutheran our core beliefs help us to achieve two goals:
They enable us to equip our church familes to live meaningful lives. They prepare us for the life that is to come in heaven.

Dress Code
Sometimes people wonder how they are expected to dress at a church they’ve never visited before.
Since the Bible presents no dress code, aside from simple decency and Christian humility, Christ Lutheran Church doesn’t make any rules either.
Like most people, our members try to make their worship time at church a special time. This is often reflected in the way they dress.
But dress is a personal matter of worship before God. One may dress casually and rejoice that we have a God who accepts us as we are. Another may dress to reflect the awe and reverence we have for our Savior King.
On any Sunday at our church you may see running shoes and high heels, jeans and suits, or open collars and ties. When a person dresses out of love for God, the choice of dress – casual or more formal – is acceptable to God … and us.

Christ Lutheran Church History
Menominee's oldest Lutheran church is Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Before it became an organized congregation, Lutheran pastors from the Green Bay -- Oconto area came to Menominee and Menominee County to officiate at baptism, communion services and funerals for German speaking Lutherans.
On June 2, 1873, a group of 11 men organized a congregation and chose the name, German Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Menominee. Yes, we take godly pride in the fact that we have been sharing the pure Word of God with our community for over 145 years. The congregation changed the name of the church on April 9, 1905, to its present name Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Menominee, probably to indicate the church's desire to reach out, not just to German speaking people, but to people of all nations.
Christ Lutheran has presently over 200 souls and looks forward to the challenges and blessings that await us in the coming years, because we know that God will be our Refuge and Strength in the future as he has been in the past.

The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
