Christ the King, Graceland Church History

In 2002 Freida Street and her husband Harvey urged Rev. Dorian Baxter to return to full time ministry. Dorian an Ordained Priest with Holy Orders from the Anglican Church of Canada gave this some serious thought and action.

On January 5th, 2003 with the support of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Newmarket, Harvey Street and Rev. Baxter were able to hold the first Worship and Communion Service of Christ the King, Graceland Independent Anglican Church of Canada with approximately 270 people in attendance and many of which are still with our church today.

Also in attendance were a number of media groups including CBS, CNN and NBC all stating unequivocally that media history with front page coverage of many national and international news papers giving credence to our mission statement “TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN”.
