Who we are
Our original vision at Christian Center that God gave us in 1965 has enlarged but it hasn't changed. We've believed then as we believe now that God wants us to spend our lives mending broken people and removing pain. God has given us a great vision to share His grace with as many people as we possibly can.

Christian Center Church History
The first church that Bill Swad Sr. with Don Neal started was Fairmoore Assembly of God in Whitehall, Ohio. Bill Swad Sr. drove the bus to pick up children, cleaned the bathrooms in the church and he listened to the Holy Spirit. God laid upon his heart to start a nondenominational church - thus the conception of Christian Center. Bill Swad’s next move was to purchase a small, but long narrow building from St. Matthews Catholic Church on the corner of Cliffview drive and Rocky Fork drive. The pastor of that congregation was Al Smith. A few years later, after the fledgling Christian Center congregation grew, the funds also grew to build a new building. In 1965 the current form of Christian Center was built.
It is very vital to remember that Bill Swad Sr. desired to be able to earn enough money to fund Christian Center, so-"As long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper." 2 Chronicles 26v5- and according to God's word, Bill prospered by building an automotive empire to fund the desire of his heart; Christian Center.
The vision for Christian Center was singular: A hospital for sinners, not a museum for Saints.
Many broken hearted a hurting people have entered the doors of Christian Center and found the Lord, found healing, love and peace. Whatever the problem, no one was ever turned away. If all the people who found answers for the heartbreak within the Lord were in attendance today, we would have to build a bigger church! Bill Swad Sr. was also known throughout the Christian world and business world as an enthusiastic man to all, witnessing to all, whether it was Ronald Reagan or the man who pumped his gas. (In those days gas stations were FULL SERVICE.)
Therefore, many well-known people in the ministry of Christ came to minister at Christian Center. It was a popular destination. Incidentally, many were just getting their start when they came to Christian Center.
Bill Swad helped them whether they were just beginning or well-known: Catherine Kuhlman, Oral and Evelyn Roberts, Richard and Lindsay Roberts, John Haiti, Andre Crouch, Benny Hinn, Dwight Thompson, “Little Richard” Penniman, Norval Hayes, Mike Murdock, T.D. Jakes, Robert Tilton, Roger McDuff, Marilyn Hickey, Lorne Matthews, Hymie Rubenstein(from south Africa), Jerry Lucas(memory expert and Ohio State star basketball player), Carlton Pearson, Brian Keith Williams, Hilton Sutton, Lee Roy Jenkins, Arthur Blessitt, Ken Copeland, Pat Robertson, Ron Cottrell, Marvin Gorman, Mark Gorman, Jeff Fenholt(starred in Jesus Christ Superstar), The Goodmans, Bill Monroe(bluegrass musician), Brian Ruud, Selena Covington, Michael Vance, Nathaniel Jordan, Rev. Floyd Faust, Bishop Skeen, Seaborn Bishop, Phil Driscoll, Rex Humbard, Clam Humbard, Bob Harrington(pastor of Bourbon Street and famously debated with Macelyn Murry O’Hare), Lester Summerall, Rick Setser(Amway), Demos Shakarian(president of F.G.B.M.A.), Raleigh Tremble, The Cathedrals, Apostolic Clefs, Bob Wright, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Bobby Rich, Dottie Rambo, Hank Snow, Jimmy Snow, Doris Akers, Tom Russell, Randy Cutlip, Sammy Hall, Jerry Bernard, Lloyd Bustard, Jimmy McDonald, Rod Parsley.
