Who we are
What We Believe
I believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and final authority for Christian faith and life.
I believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
I believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
I believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be attained.
I believe that the shed blood of Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus, become children of God.
I believe that water baptism and the Lord’s supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
I believe that the true church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.
I believe that only those who are, thus, members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to govern its own affairs.
I believe in the personal premillenial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope?has a vital bearing of the personal life and service of the believer.
I believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to everlasting judgment and eternal punishment.

Our church’s worship balances the elements of prayer, music, preaching, and giving. The contemporary worship service is designed to facilitate worship, making an intentional and noticeable effort to facilitate authentic and relevant worship among people of various ages. We sing choruses with guitars, drums, piano, and multiple singers. We also sing hymns with a brass ensemble. Both styles of music are important for high impact worship, facilitating a deeper, more intimate, and more passionate relationship with Jesus.

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
Our Sunday School for kids is based on Vacation Bible School year round. The children are taught one Bible story each month, but they are taught it in several different ways. It is a rotational system that allows the kids to move from one class to another the next week. This allows them to learn in various ways—reading, movies, puppets, crafts, science? The rotational system helps all kids learn in the way that they learn best. Sunday School allows us to do some innovative and effective things, beyond just what happens in the worship service, to help kids interact with and understand the Bible.

Community Evangelical Free Church History
In June of 1999 Pastor Andrew was hired at Hanover EFC as Associate Pastor with the vision for planting a church. In 2003 Dennis Fulk, pastor of Faith Evangelical Fellowship, started a prayer meeting for local churches. That prayer meeting led to a combined Good Friday service with Hanover Community, Hanover EFC, Calvary Bible, and Faith Evangelical Fellowship. Before that Good Friday Service, Hanover EFC challenged its people to pray about church planting for the forty days of Lent. Shortly after Easter, the congregation was surveyed and there was remarkable support for church planting especially in the area north of Route 30.
Hanover EFC faced two large problems: money and people. The congregation continued to pray and in June of 2003 the group interested in planting a church met for the first time. The following day the Eastern District Association pledged $10,000. The money problem was solved. The following day Dennis Fulk called, after resigning at Faith, and discussed the opportunity for the people of Faith to join the people of Hanover. The people problem was solved.
On Sunday, September 21st Community Evangelical Free Church had its first service. 76 people attended at Paradise Elementary School. After a commissioning service on October 5th, the church was officially launched on Sunday, October 26 2003 with a Grand Opening Service. The focus of the church has been fruitful evangelism.
In December of 2003 our worship team led worship for the first time. In January of 2004 we started a small group ministry. In September of 2004 we started having the youth group meet regularly and started the Rotation Model Sunday School for the kids. On December 5, 2004 we had our first Orientation Day. In January of 2005 we started a Building Research Committee to start looking for a permanent place at which Community EFC could worship. On Saturday, October 29th we had the winning bid on 6817 Lincoln Highway West. Praise God for His provisions. In June of 2005 we had our first Leadership Development Workshop. We are excited about what God will do through His church.
