I grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and was raised by Christian parents as one of seven children, five girls and two boys. I have been in the church since I was dedicated to the Lord at two weeks old in April of 1958. I do not remember a time when I did not believe in God or His son Jesus. I do remember a time when after a Sunday school class at the age of ten I cried out to the Lord to save me. I was baptized in 1968 and have been in the church for 64 years. The church was originally Bethel Pentecostal Assembly it became Maranatha Tabernacle and later Maranatha Christian Fellowship. In September of 2018 Maranatha Christian Fellowship merged with Destiny Church and we became Converge Church. It has been a long and winding journey, but God has permitted me to be a part of it all.
My wife Kitty and I married in March of 1978 and entered marriage with a heart for ministry. We served in a variety of capacities: Sunday School, Junior High Youth, Worship Team, evangelism and outreach, small group ministry, etc. In 1981 I sensed a call in the direction of pastoral ministry. I began to prepare for the day I would become a pastor at the time believing that God would use me to plant a church. I became a deacon in 1983 and was ordained as an elder in 1987. Unexpectedly I was asked to assume pastoral leadership of our church, Maranatha Tabernacle, in December of 1987.The ensuing years brought additional expansions, and purchase of property including three adjacent houses. During that same time my wife and I were blessed with four children, and I completed Bible school and seminary graduating with a MAR (theological emphasis) from Westminster Theological Seminary. Along the way God has allowed my wife and I to minister to and with some of the finest people imaginable. We look forward to continuing to serve and teach people for the Kingdom of God and His glory.

Converge Church History
Converge Church was formed due to a merger between Maranatha Christian Fellowship and Destiny Family Worship Center on September 23, 2018. Believing that God wanted His local Church to reflect the rich and vibrant diversity within the body of Christ as described in Revelations 7:9, "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before Lamb, hands," Pastors George and Jonathan and their congregations decided to join both ministries together.
