Who we are
At Corner Canyon, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come to our 10:30 a.m. service.
Our church is located at 12900 South on 1300 East and parking is located behind the church. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door. We keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' perfect life and sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Jeans are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
When you walk in, find one of our greeters and introduce yourself. They're stationed at the door of the sanctuary, and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and Sunday school rooms if you have kids. Our greeters can also point you to the restrooms and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers.
Be sure to hang around after the service and join us for hot drinks and snacks. You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
Our Mission:
The mission of Corner Canyon Church is to equip people to discover God's grace in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, Corner Canyon Church is focused on spreading and sharing the amazing grace of the Gospel to everyone.
Our Vision:
Our vision is to create a church culture that is focused on advancing the great commission. The great commission comes from the mouth of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20:
18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Given these words of Jesus, our vision as a church is to always strive to be focused on reaching the lost for Christ, and to be equipping believers with biblical teaching in everything we do. This is what it means to make disciples and teach others all of what Jesus commanded.
Our Values:
The Gospel: We are a church that stresses that you never move beyond the Gospel but that as you grow as a believer you come to a deeper and deeper understanding of the Gospel, and this understanding changes your heart and your life.
The Church as a Family: The church is not a business or corporation, the church is a loving accepting family fueled by grace.
Outward Focus: We want to be focused on reaching the lost for Jesus Christ outside of the church rather than focus on petty differences inside the church.
Defending the Faith: At our church we want believers to know what they believe and why they believe it so that they can be more confident in their own faith and also in sharing their faith with others.
Dependence: We are a church that is focused on depending on God and not on ourselves and our own merits. We depend on God through praying, studying His word, and coming on Sunday to be spiritually fed.
Multiplication: We are a church that is focused on spiritual growth. Living things grow whereas dead things decay. Our focus is on making new disciples, leaders, and churches, all for the glory of God!

Leader Bio:
Pastor Nate grew up in Southern California. Although he was raised in a Christian home, he became skeptical of Christianity by the time he started high school. He finally accepted Christ at the age of 20 after hearing the evidence and reasons for Christianity. He felt the call to ministry, so he began studying the Bible and evangelizing. As time went on, he felt called to go to school to learn more about the Bible. He first went to Biola University for a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and theology. After Biola, Nate went on to receive two master’s degrees from Westminster Seminary California and Talbot School of Theology. He has previously served as Youth Pastor at The Bridge Church in South Carolina where he taught the youth how to defend their faith and evangelize to others. He joined Hidden Valley Presbyterian Church as the teaching Pastor in April 2016 and is now relaunching the church as Corner Canyon Church. Because of his background Nate is very passionate about evangelism, apologetics (giving reasons for Christianity) and preparing youth spiritually for College. He is very blessed to be married to Laura and together they have two kids: Kenny And Abigail.

Empower me
Empower me to be a bold participant, rather than a timid saint in waiting; to exercise authority of honesty, rather than to defer to power or deceive to get it; to influence someone for justice, rather than impress anyone for gain; and by grace, to find treasures of joy, of friendship, of peace hidden in the fields you give me daily to plow.
