Who we are
We are a church family made up of people from all kinds of different backgrounds from across multiple generations. We believe that worship is more about focusing on God than a style of music. Because no one type of music facilitates worship for everyone, we use a blended style of worship. On a typical Sunday, we might sing a hymn or two, but we'll also sing some more modern worship songs. Both of our worship services are identical in style and we would love to have you join us for either one at 9:00 AM or at 10:30 AM.
Our Mission
We exist to Connect with Christ and to Care for our Community. Our Vision is to be a family of believers, whose connection with Christ transforms our priorities, our relationships, and our communities. More specifically, we feel led to build and Make Room for a greater congregation of believers. Scroll down to learn more.

Leader Bio:
Matt and his wife Jenny have been a part of Covenant Fellowship since June of 1996, when the church called Matt to serve as Youth Pastor. He and Jenny worked together with the youth until July of 1998 when he was called as Pastor. Matt grew up on the other side of the state, in Bradenton, while Jenny grew up in Orlando.
Matt and Jenny were both blessed to grow up in Christian homes, and both came to know Christ early in life, Matt at five and Jenny at seven. The two met and married while in college at Florida State University, where Matt got his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, and where Jenny received hers in English Education. After graduating from FSU, they spent three years in Fort Worth, Texas, where Matt got his MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Jenny taught High School English. Since moving to Stuart, Matt and Jenny have been blessed with five children.
Wil, Kylie and Davis were all born in Stuart and are now young adults in our church family. Their twins, Gloria and Dalton, joined the family initially through foster care at three and a half, and were legally adopted just before their sixth birthday. When she's not taking care of the family or spending time with people from church, Jenny works as a life coach. When Matt’s not working at church, he likes to surf, work on projects around the house, and just hang out with his family.

Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church History
What’s now Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church began in January of 1981. What started as the vision of founding pastor, L.C. Campbell -- a vision for a different kind of church, began to materialize when a small group of 21 people met in the home of Dr. Jim Buttles to pray and ask for God’s leading. That group continued to meet weekly to pray and seek the Lord’s direction. They planned a Bible conference for April, which was held at the Stuart Women’s Club. Under L.C.’s leadership, they studied the book of Nehemiah, which illustrates the truth that when God is behind something, there’s no stopping it.
From that point on, the church met for worship every Sunday morning, and for Bible Study on Wednesday nights. In June of 1981, L.C. Campbell was officially called to serve as the first Pastor of Covenant Fellowship. Later that year, they approached the owner of a large piece of property at the end of Aster Lane about the possibility of purchasing it for the church. As He always does, the Lord provided everything that was needed, and the church was able to purchase the 18+ acres that has been “home” to the ministry all these years. They broke ground on February 28, 1982, with Mosely and Son Construction. The church met at Howard Johnsons in Stuart during those years, and held its first worship service in the new building on Easter Sunday of 1984. The Lord continued to bless the ministry of the church, and in the early 90’s, an education building was added to give the ministry room to grow.
Covenant’s current pastor, Matt Price, has been at Covenant since June of 1996. Matt was initially called, under L.C.’s leadership, to serve as Associate Pastor of Student Ministry, a job that he loved and expected to do for much longer than he actually did. In December of 1997, when L.C. took a full time position as a chaplain for the Martin County Sheriff’s department, Matt stepped in to preach until a new Senior Pastor was called. The Lord had other plans, and in July of 1998, after 6 months of preaching duties, the church voted to call Matt as Pastor. Since that time, Covenant has been blessed with a number of Associate Pastors and excellent support staff who have deepened Covenant’s ministry and helped to broaden its reach into the community.
To this day, Covenant aspires to be a different kind of church, where people matter more than programs, where leadership models servanthood, and where we demonstrate our love for God by loving each other and serving our community as God enables us. Ultimately, the people make the church what it is, so every member of Covenant is helping to write the future “history” of Covenant. What that will look like, we don’t know, but we pray that whatever the future looks like, God is honored and Jesus is glorified through us.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
