Who we are
"It all started when my children were invited to a kids program at the Crossroads Church. They loved it so much they wouldn’t stop talking about it and kept asking to go back. One Sunday, as I was picking up my children, I started talking to another couple. They invited my family and I over for a BBQ that afternoon…I was a little hesitant to accept their offer as I didn’t know them, but as I watched how well our kids were all interacting, I felt some sort of peace about it. My wife gladly accepted the offer and the rest, they say, is history! As I look back on that afternoon now, I see how much that family has impacted us and how that afternoon was the starting point of something that would drastically change the course of our lives."
"To be honest, we were afraid to check it out. We kept making excuses or finding things to keep us busy on Sunday mornings. Our friends never gave up on us. They continued to include us and even offered to pick up our children when we were too busy to drop them off. One Sunday morning we woke up, and my wife and I just knew that this was the day. I recall my feelings that morning. I was very afraid and was intimated about what the people would think of me…I hadn’t stepped into a church for years! I was glad to see that all my preconceived notions of church were wrong. Some how this church was different."
We don't care how you're dressed (although you may get some flack if you are wearing a Rider's jersey), how many tattoos you have, or what political party you voted for. We're a church full of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable, and we're saving a seat for you!
If you’ve never been and you’re considering coming, here’s what you should expect…
Nice people. We LOVE it when someone comes for the first time. Feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll guide you in!
A casual atmosphere. We care about YOU, not what you’re wearing, so feel to come in jeans or whatever is comfortable. Our dress code is simple: wear something. Grab a hot cup of free coffee and sit wherever you’d like! We will NOT single you out publicly or ask you to say anything, and we do NOT expect guests to contribute anything financially.
A fun, safe environment for kids. If you bring your kids, you’ll check them in and out each Sunday. All of our kids ministry volunteers must pass background checks and have a heart for kids and families.
Practical teaching that connects the words of the Bible to everyday life and music that is lively, including drums and guitars. Don’t be surprised if some people raise their hands as a sign of praise while singing, and don’t feel obligated to do so yourself. We create an atmosphere of freedom in our services.

Crossroads Church History
The launch of "The Cross Roads" Church in Selkirk, MB was celebrated with an "Olde Tyme Country Fair' on Sunday, September 11, 2016. The Cross Roads Church was born out of a merger of the former Selkirk Alliance and River's Edge (EMCC) churches joining together to form one new Alliance Church.
The day began with a celebration service under the 'big top' tent. Pastor Neill Stitt shared a message reminding us of the cross roads we each face in life and also as a church. Former Pastors relayed their blessings as did our District Superintendent Al Fedorak, and our local MP James Bezan. Prayers of dedication and blessing were an encouragement to all as we concluded the service.
The rest of the day was met with activities designed to engage the entire family: Pig roast lunch, pie judging, petting zoo, face painting, costumes and photo booth, a lumberjack/jill competition, and capping the day – a square dance!

I want Thy plan, O God
I want Thy plan, O God, for my life. May I be happy and contented whether in the homeland or on the foreign field; whether married or alone, in happiness or sorrow, health or sickness, prosperity or adversity - I want Thy plan, O God, for my life. I want it; oh, I want it.
