Who we are
We are an Affirming Community of Faith of the United Church of Canada. Our congregation loves to gather for worship and lunch on Sundays (both in person and on Facebook Live). We are a lively open community in our theology and practice. We believe the Gospels guide us on the simple yet life changing rule of “Love Your Neighbor”. Our Sunday worship leads us back out into the local community and the wider community to live out what we have heard at church.
We love to sing and can easily raise the roof in song. We sing from Voices United and More Voices with a combination of traditional and new hymns. We just love to sing. We also love to greet one another during our service and are open to sharing our faith when Rev. Jeff does a shared sermon. We believe in the wisdom of the young and the young at heart. We learn from each other and make space for each other. All are welcome to share their gifts and talents to build up the life of our church family. Young and young at heart minister side by side in all ministries for they flow from our baptism. We believe participation encourages growth in our faith…and so from a young age we encourage this.
We love to gather for crock pot meals with the community joining us throughout the year. They may not all attend our church services…but they are part of our community family. As our Tyrone t-shirt says “it takes a village”. We laugh together, we grieve together and we try and live in harmony together…
We believe outreach is a huge part of our church life…Covid19 has taught us that the Church is not the building…but that WE are the Church. Even though our church building was closed at times for safety reasons…we are back open and we the church have hit the streets and gone online, welcoming others on Facebook Live…but also taking part in activities to remind us the Church has feet and hands and eyes and ears and a voice.
We are so much more than this…so why not check us out and find out more…we would love to chat.

Leader Bio:
Our minister is Rev. Jeff Doucette. He began with us on Aug 1, 2018. He is originally from Plaster Rock, NB and has an interesting journey through ministry which began in 1994. Rev Jeff loves to compose music, loves to preach and especially loves to gather with our church family.
He is interested in social justice believing church is not what you do on Sunday but how you live it during the week. If there was a slogan to describe him it would be “Words matter, actions matter and showing up matters”. Loving our neighbor and setting an extra place at God’s table is at the heart of the gospel and is deeply rooted in Jeff’s heart. We are about loving God’s people, feeding God’s people and that includes everyone with hesitation, without condition.
Jeff loves to invoke the imagination, engage us in dialogue putting words and images to our faith journey in ways that will move us forward. He is also a Bluejays baseball fan and can talk for hours about that over a cup of coffee as well. You are most welcome to join us on this journey.
