Who we are
The Church of the Advent is a welcoming community to all seekers and believers, to the curious and the committed, to growth and questions, to challenge and witness. We are a faith community, rooted in the Episcopal Church tradition, celebrating God's unconditional love. We welcome persons of every race, culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, marital status, and economic status. We believe that all of us are created and loved by God.
At Advent, we engage Holy Scripture as spiritual wisdom that transforms our lives as well as the life of the world. We believe God was made manifest in Jesus, and that God is still present in us and among us, including each time we gather to share the food and drink of the Holy Eucharist. We strive to emulate Jesus the Christ, and to therefore find the power and the life of God in our world today. We subscribe to G.K. Chesterton's belief, "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried." Yet we trust that God's Spirit is upon us, while striving to be set on fire for the Gospel and for life. A life born on a cross. A life that cannot die.

God's Promise
Jesus gave His life so that you do not have to carry your burden. He knows this burden hinders you from having eternal life. He knows your sin burden hinders you from living the abundant life that God created you to live. He knows your sin hinders you from experiencing joy and peace that has no bounds and hinders you from receiving all that God has promised and created you to receive.
You just have to ask.
