Equality Methodist Church was established September 17, 1887. We have a proud history in the community and a rich heritage in the area.
We believe in the Holy Trinity of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. We strive to serve God by proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ; establishing and maintaining religious worship; educating believers in a manner consistent with the Holy Scripture, and maintaining missionary activities.

My name is Wayne Cowhick. I have the wonderful opportunity to be the pastor of the Equality Methodist Church. I was born in Kirksville, Missouri and raised in Topeka, Kansas until, at the age of 13, my family moved to Wadley, Alabama. In the summer of 1974 I met the love of my life, Susan.
I graduated High School in May of 1975 and Susan and I were married June 28th 1975. We have two daughters, Mandy and Amy. After working a few jobs, I finally landed in the seat of an eighteen wheeler. In the mid nineteen eighties while driving a truck and fighting my own personal demons, The Lord touched my life. The Lord revealed Himself to me and I felt the love and Grace of God.
Until that night, Susan had to drag me to church, but after that night I began making sure my family was in church. I became a deacon and one day while our pastor was out I was put in a position to preach a sermon. I was then asked to fill in at a church. That church became the first church I would pastor. I have taken several Bible courses and attended many pastoral training sessions. I have been blessed because The Lord has allowed me to serve four great churches since my ministry began.
