Who we are
Church Of God in Eureka, CA started a long time ago. Originally it was run by Pastor, Wesley Shires & his wife Ruby. The church remained under their care & leadership for many years. In the early 1990's the church took a hit when Pastor W. Shires became ill and ultimately passed away.
The church then got a new Pastor. He still remains the pastor to this day. Pastor W. Shires & his wifes oldest son Pastor C. Tim Shires took over for his father. Pastor Tim took over in 1991. He of course has been a part of the church for most of his life however. The church was quite lucky in that he was already, (much like his father) more like family to everyone and cares very much.
Currently Pastor Tim still remains with the church. His mother Ruby also continues to attend. Although there have been a few changes here and there.

Tim has been the Pastor for over 20 years. He took over in 1991 upon the passing of his father Pastor Wesley Shires. He is very devoted to both the church, God & the congregation. Over the years, (before & after he became Pastor) he has become not just Pastor. To many he is a close friend & like family.
Over the years He has worked with other churches as Youth Pastor. He has also been close and been a part of helping with the youth group over the years. Most recently He & his wife Delia have also started a Bible study (when possible) with newer members. He previously had one with the youth too.

Abide in my heart
Come, Lord Jesus, and abide in my heart. How grateful I am to realize that the answer to my prayer does not depend on me at all. As I quietly abide in You and let Your life flow into me, what freedom it is to know that the Father does not see my threadbare patience or insufficient trust, rather only Your patience, Lord, and Your confidence that the Father has everything in hand. In Your faith I thank You right now for a more glorious answer to my prayer than I can imagine. Amen.
