Who we are
Five Reasons why you might want to check out our Church:
1. We are Bible believing, Bible preaching Church. If you enjoy Bible preaching, you will appreciate our ministry. That is why we choose the name: Family Bible Church. In Sunday School, we follow a quarterly that takes us through the various themes of the Bible. On Sunday Morning, I strive to preach relevant messages that you take home with you. On Sunday nights and Wednesday nights we give ourselves to Bible teaching as we cover the Bible verse by verse.
2. Service. Everyone needs a place where they are needed, loved, and appreciated! Family Bible Church needs people who are willing to use their spiritual gift in our midst! We are a body of believers, and it takes all of us to make this Church body function to the Lord's honor and glory.
3. We are a Church big enough to meet your personal needs, and small enough to know where you live. I can truly say that I know where the people of my Church live, work, and play. I will strive to “be there for you” when you have a need for a Pastor to stand with you thru the struggles of daily life.
4. Friends. People not only go to Church to worship the Lord, but they also attend the Church to have fellowship with the saints. Our Church affords many opportunities for you to become apart of us. Please come and visit. You have many new best friends that you have yet to meet!
5. Music. The Bible contains both the New and the Old Testaments. I believe that a Church should worship with music from both the New Testament hymns of worship and the Old Testament songs of praise. I play a simple guitar, and Guy Pelkey keeps the rhythm on the drums. We have a few folks helping us on our praise team, but, to be honest, we could use more musicians. Can you help us?

Family Bible Church History
The History of Family Bible Church and it’s Pastor:
My wife, Judy, and I both attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduation, we spent one year teaching school and serving as the Associate Pastor of the Dundee Baptist Church in Dundee, Florida. In 1976, we felt a calling from the Lord to return my home town of Muskegon, Michigan to begin a plant Church with the help of my cousin’s family, Dale and Nancy Cook. As the Church grew, we moved from one location to the next to accommodate our congregation. We spent over twenty years at the corner of Norton and McCracken St.. where the Church name at that time was “The Bible Baptist Temple.” In 2002 we moved to a new location at the corner of Laketon and Hudson St. In 2008, We came to our present location in Roosevelt Park, changed our Church name to “The Family Bible Church” to fit with our new partnership with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
We are presently being helped with a great staff of workers including: Pastor Bill Randall, our young adult Bible teacher, Dale and Cathy Felgenhauer working with the youth work and driving our Church van, Shirley Kinnucan, our Church secretary, Rhonda Vanderkooi, as our children’s worker, Maureen Hall, our Ladies Bible teacher, and Guy Pelkey helping us with the daily ministries and our Church praise team.
Judy and I have four grown children, and eighteen grand children. Both of my Sons, Jay and Jonathan, are in the pastorate. My Daughter, Jennifer, is in full time ministry with the Church she's serves. Janelle helps us in our Church on the praise team.

My hidden sins
Here they are, Lord Jesus, my hidden sins. I bring them out of the secret chamber of my heart. I take them out of the darkness and expose them to Your light. Lord, You have promised You will execute Your word upon the earth, thoroughly and quickly. Oh God, thoroughly cleanse my heart; purify me quickly!
